Few things that I've been meaning to blog about but never have:

  • The Hunger Games ~ Been reading through the series; I'm a little more than a third through Mockingjay right now. I actually like them. While the writing isn't the best, and the present tense bugged me at first, but I've gotten used to it and now I really enjoy them. I'm quite excited to finish the series. Will blog about it more when I do, most likely. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I plan to soon.

  • Speaking of movies ~ The Dark Knight Rises is going to be amazing. That is all. The Hobbit and Les Miserables will be, too.

  • School/College ~ So school's been picking up, and that plus being sick recently would account for my not staying on top of everything here (SSCC, some PMs I haven't replied to, etc.). But anyway, for college I decided to go to community college for two years then transfer to UC Irvine or somewhere after that; saves a lot of money, allows me to get a job, etc.

  • Justified ~ Quite an awesome TV show; started watching it about a month ago or so, and now I'm caught up to the most recent episode -- can't wait for next season. Raylan Givens is awesome.

  • Writing ~ So I've been working on several writing "projects" though haven't worked on much recently, unfortunately. Micah, John and I have our BZPRPG story arc which will be awesome but has been inactive for a while haha. Hopefully we'll start that up again. We actually created a blog for it, that way we can keep track of our posts through all the hundreds of other posts. Maybe I'll see about disabling commenting so it can be linked here but we'll see. Then there's a story I'm working on with John, but that too hasn't been worked on in a while, but we've got some big plans for it so it'll be fun once we start writing. Lastly of course there's the write-offs I've mentioned in a couple entries; I really love how they've been getting me to actually write for once. I've seriously written more in the past three-ish weeks than I have in the past like three years. No, they're not perfect, and yes they're all only like one-page stories, but hey, it's writing.

  • And, most importantly, over the "downtime" (though, seriously, it was like a week; not a big deal) I attended the Senior Prom with a amazing person (she was prom queen, hence the crown if anyone's wondering), and had an absolutely amazing time:

Really just an awesome and wonderful night. But anyway, that's about all I've got for now...I swear there was something else I meant to talk about but oh well.

:kaukau: My mind zoomed in on the mention of a new Les Miserables movie. I didn't know they were coming out with one of those.

By the way, congratulations on the prom, even if it is overrated. My cousin, sadly, decided not to go, otherwise I might have had someone to hang out with and talk nerdy with. Otherwise, my after-prom was nice, especially showing up in a superman outfit, sans the cape and boots. i didn't have a date at all, which was fine, although I wanted to try it out since I'm all about trying new things. Unfortunately, the only person I was interested in hanging out for a whole night, my best friend, has a stable non-platonic relationship with another guy. I'm fine with that, although it means that I can't make the same boast as you of hanging out with an amazing person.

@ John ~ You suck. =P

@ Toa Onarax ~ Haha, cool. Enjoy it. =P

@ Emperor Kraggh ~ Yeah, it looks like it's going to be very good; Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, Russel Crowe as Javert, Anne Hathaway and Fantine, and, most importantly (IMO), Colm Wilkinson as the Bishop (he played Valjean in the 10th anniversary edition which is the first Les Mis I saw, and he's also the original Broadway Valjean, so it's awesome to have him have a role here).

Thanks, but yeah it is overrated. After-prom sounds nice, sorry about not being able to hang out with your friend though; I hope you had a fun night all the same!

:kaukau: Yeah.

Alright, I've been listening to the TAC version since I was a little kid, and I have that version on tape (or had, since it was destroyed in a flood). Colm Wilkinson is the perfect Jean Valjean. His presence has basically inspired a wise mentor within my own writings, and I'll be hapy to see him as the bishop.

As for the other actors, though, I'm a bit unsure. I'm find with Colm Wilkinson, but other famous faces might ruin the feel for me, since it's extremely difficult to think of them as anything other than famous faces (or Wolverine). Russel Crowe might be the lease conspicuous, if only because I seem to remember a breathtaking performance in A Beautiful Mind.

Yeah, I see what you mean, it might be odd having the famous actors. Though, at the same time, I'm really glad they chose Hugh Jackman because he is a big theatre guy so I think he'll be amazing. I guess we'll see, though.

I agree completely about Colm Wilkinson.

Lol I'm gonna switch topics...in terms of TV shows, be sure to check out Grimm. It's got a great dark fantasy meets CSI premise, I think you'd like it.

The premise is that the Brothers Grimm (and all other writers of fair tales) weren't actually making things up: they were writing about actual events. Check it out.

Alright, I'll keep that in mind, thanks! Who knows if/when I will though, haha, because I have so many TV shows I want to watch but try to keep it to just a small few (or at least at one time). =P
