A thought on the Mask of Fire promotion

I've been considering placing multiple orders for sets I sort of want in order to get multiples of the Hero Pack polybag, but then I remembered what happened last time I received a promotional product with a Shop@Home order.

A couple of summers ago, just back from the first BrickFair NE, I had a $50 LEGO gift card to spend. So I ended up buying Eris' Eagle Interceptor and the Iron Man set with the boat (don't recall the exact name and don't feel like guessing). Unfortunately, the Iron Man set was on back order, so I got the Interceptor first. It included the Chima CHI Battles set, which was a promotion I was unaware of. So that was pretty cool. But when I got around to receiving the Iron Man set, that box also contained a CHI Battles set. So I got two off of one order.

So, just for the heck of it, I might try to order both the Lord of Skull Spiders and another set that looks decent and is back ordered, if I can find one. Worst case scenario I only get one polybag with the order, but if it works anything like it did last time then I might get two without having to pay for extra shipping.

And having multiples would be good, for unspecified reasons.

Somewhat jealous of all those free Chi Battles.

I guess.

It's a pretty bad set anyway, so free is about as much as one should pay for it anyway.

In March I may just go to the Lego store every other day and buy a Mixel or two for a while. There's also the new Ninjago and Elves sets that are coming out in March (with a nice looking Elves polybag too...)...I think even without trying to, I'm gonna end up with a whole bunch of these things. I just count myself lucky that the Lego store literally couldn't be any easier for me to get to. Paying shipping with Lego is always kind of a drag.

The LEGO Shop site offers free shipping on all orders over $75 (in the US, anyway, don't know if there's any equivalent offer in other countries), so if you do find yourself having to order things online it can be smart to order a lot off your wish list in one fell swoop. Though with the price of LEGO, it's not hard to bring your total to $75!

I like to save a lot of my LEGO purchasing for months when there's either a gift with purchase I want, or double VIP points.

Unfortunately, while there are double VIP points available for a time in March, it only overlaps with the last six days of the BIONICLE promotion.  So I probably won't be waiting that long.  "While supplies last" and all that.
