Remind Me…

Exactly why does Gali have to look like a human female in order to be a girl?

Your arguments make no sense.

You say: "I don't care if the storyline says Gali's a girl, that's just an excuse."

I say: "If it's 'just an excuse', why does she need to look more 'feminine'? The only reason the sets are male/female is because of the storyline."

:annoyed:

I have no Idea. A Memebr who's name i will not share with you bashes her every chance he gets. And you know what? HE DOESN'T HAVE HER.

People, Pictures aren't everything! I have her, she's female enough.

Just to throw this out there: There are no biological gender differences in the storyline either. It's all personality.

We get your opinion...

Well, it matters to ME.

Sorry. Quoting a James Thurber cartoon.

I was just discussing this yesterday with rock559. Since there's no biological point, as they don't reproduce, I agree that it doesn't matter. I think that people who want feminine looking sets are creepy.

And why can't women be bulky, anyway? I swear, the attitudes towards women and what constitutes 'femininity' in this fandom range from the worrisome at best to the utterly insulting at worst. Guh.

I don't like her for other reasons. One, her hunch back looks odd and should be on Onua. Two, not enough blue.

That's it. :P

I think she looks rather Gali-ish, especially when I modified her to fix those problems. :)

Pffft, what'm I sayin'?!?

Women are way better to look at.

Okay, so they're mechanical.

Being female leads to possibilities, Soundwave-style.

One side could turn into a robot, the other side a condor or jaguar robot.

The female form = possibilities!

JINZO and Tufi ftw. :P

I don't mind Gali being "unfeminine", it's just that the bulk really should be on Onua, and the set is waaaaaaaay different from the Gali Nuva of old. (With the Metru Blue, Bunny Ears, No Melee Weapons, Kopaka-esque mask, etc.)

The thing is, the ol' Gali, back in the day, had a breastplate. The other Toa didn't. And her legs were flipped.

Seeing as LEGO called her a female, too, it's pretty obvious that there should be something about her new form that suggests femininity.

And you know what? There is. She looks pretty good, from Roa McToa's review.

It's pretty pointless how people keep arguing about it, though.

[random person] "No, it isn't! It's a legitimate dispute!"

As if the debates are that vocabularily advanced. <_<

I never thought I'd use this, and just to clarify, I don't mean it as the meme form either. But what she said.

What I said.

Onua's legs were stronger than everyone else's.

I don't know..

But I do think LEGO does some minor things to imply femininity in feminine sets. Nothing big (exception: Roodaka (no pun intended)), but stuff.

Dude, they all had chestplates, didn't they?

That's the thing I never got: just how is that one hipjoint so incredibly feminine? The only way it is is if you rely on the symbol to the extreme, and... well... hold on, I think I've figured out why so many people will defend horrible and ill-fitting chest designs to the death. So much sighing. Thanks, Lego.

Like I say-if you think that Gali mata/nuva looked female, then you obviously think that all of the other mata/nuva looked female. Body-wise, that is. And apparently, Gali Nuva's mask does look female, from RmcT's review.

But it was supposed to.

Parents would go, "That one's a female, then." And they'd be glad the set wasn't too suggestive.

Kids would go, "OK, so this one's a girl. I can kinda see that."

Whereas if somebody told you Onua was a girl, you'd be like, "No wai!"

If you look at the new Gali's legs, they retain a similar shape. I think that's good.
