It makes perfect sense. They're meant to be the Toa Nuva. They don't resemble them. So that's bad.

There are some other similarities, but most of those are also shared with other masks.

These new toa completely own the old ones. I mean, the old ones (old Nuva, that is) were just vague revamps of the first toa with uglier masks, overly buff armor, and still zero articulation. I think these toa could whup them any day.

Yeah. Krika doesn't look anything like Kopaka Nuva. Nor does Bitil like Pohatu Nuva. Or Gorast like Lewa Nuva.

Of course it doesn't make sense.

I still dun like the Hordika, and I kinda like all the Mistika besides the red one.

They're meant to be Toa Nuva in new armor. But it makes no sense that the sets are "bad" because they don't resemble '02.

I think they're bad in other ways, too. But I don't want to start a flame war just because I don't like them.

If they did look too much like the 02 Toa Nuva I wouldn't buy them.

 

There are some things I would've liked changed about them... Onua should've been more hunched, Gali shouldn't look like a muscle builder... but overall, they're cooler than the 02 Nuva by far. Now, comparing them to the Inika and Mahri are a different matter.

Anyhoo, I have to say that I'm okay with people who don't like the sets, but if you just hate them because you're freakishly nostalgic, than there's a problem. And people are more freakishly nostalgic than the realize. I call them nostalgia-ists.

 

And about Rho's comment. Duh. If they sold the old Nuva (or vague revamps, which is what the old Nuva were of the old toa) then people would complain. But I'd join in the complaining. Because these toa completely own the old ones.

But it would give me a chance to snab Lewa, the last Nuva I need...
