English Classes

If you ever decide to pull a stupid stunt, like myself along with 20-sum others, to go to college summer classes for English (albeit, a sophomore-level class), prepare to read until your eyes bleed.   Oh, the inhumanity..

Ac/dc

No matter what you're doing, be it studying, cruising the highway, reading, whatever you're up, they are one of the best bands out there.   Just can't stop listening to them lately. B)

No More 360..

So I've officially canceled my XBox Live account automatic renewal and wiped all payment options. I've grown tired of having this hunk of plastic sit in my room doing absolutely nothing, so I'm selling it locally (I think I already have a guy lined up to buy it). I have no time for XBox anymore, and I need the money. I wish I still had time.. XBox was a decent way to relieve stress (or make more stress, on occassion ). I only use my XBox now for watching DVDs, which basically makes the 360 usel

Drag Raced My Mustang!

Aww man! Those few seconds were part of the most adrenaline-rushed, high-octane-powered moments of my life!   Tonight, I drag raced my Mustang for the first time. Everything went nearly as good as could be hoped.   Here's the list of occurrences that I had to process/fulfill in 15 seconds: Pull up to burnout box Turn off Traction Control Apply small pressure to brake Apply pressure to gas pedal Roll out of burn out Turn on Traction control Align front tires in tire box Apply pressure to brake

Career Change Idea

I was initially thinking about going into medical school, but after some events that have occurred in my life, I am now considering going into teaching and research just as, who I consider to be my friend and mentor, Dr. Stephen Banks.   It's quite a jump, changing a choice of professional field, and I just hope this is what will be better for me in the long run.   Am I nervous about this? Yes, I am.

Tv Is Not Bad

Seriously, watching House actually helped me in my Biology lab today.   My professor gave us a question saying, "Say a child was able to get their hands on some printer toner, and they drank some. Why is this dangerous, and what can they do prevent it?"   I was able to explain what could happen and what should be done because of House.   Getting some points right there.

Some Order In The Universe

Got my car back today, so something is back in place. I'm still missing a piece of my brain from my head injury, but I don't think I'll find that..

Car Jokes

Hopefully, if you've heard about Toyota's recent problems with their cars, then you'll understand this story.   My Dad made a pretty good one today while we were watching Pinks All Out. There was a guy being interviewed and was asked the question, "What do you plan to do to stay ahead?" The guy responded: "I'm going to hit the pedal as hard as I can and go all out."   My Dad had a snappy response: "Hey, if you're having pedal problems, there's a simple fix: install a Toyota gas pedal."     Ni

Good News On Research

My professor and the botany professor used a chemical on a sample of salvinia this past Monday, and as it turns out, it's showing some results - good results.   The salvinia samples are dying, and the water does not seem to be affected by it. Further tests will be needed to show the effects on algae to small fish on what exactly the chemical will do when it is exposed to the elements.   This is our first shot at a solution. It'd be nice if we got this because that would mean some money for LSU

Stress

These passed few days could have been better.. I got a paper due tomorrow. Problem is, I've not done this kind of paper before, and I don't want to the professor to be like, "Everything is wrong. You fail." I got into a scratch match with another car. Rear bumper scratched up somewhat. Oddly enough, my car didn't get body damage; the other car was caved in it seems. American muscle body strength is what saved itself on that, I suppose. Two quizzes this week, along with a test. I can't get more t

Student Assistant

My Biology lab professor is allowing me to do actual, legitimate research with him. The current project is how to kill off a plant infestation over a local lake. Probably not many of you have heard about the salvinia outbreak in Shreveport's Cross Lake. The plant is basically a parasite to the water, not the fish. It absorbs oxygen and nutrients at an fairly high rate.   In essence, no oxygen/nutrients for algae to grow, no algae for small fish to eat, no small fish for big fish to eat. A total

Super Bowl 44

Good day for me, just because it's a certain day of the year in which one celebrates their yearly anniversary of living. A good day it will be. Football, food, and I think my parents are signing over the Mustang's car title over to me, so I can literally say, "It's my car."   I'll be too busy with school to care about my birthday or the game, but I'll need food for the work.   Gotta love science college professors who feel the need to rule your life.

To Whoever Invented Turn-in-online Math Homework...

Curse you. Why must you make life so overbearingly difficult!?   Online math homework is a place where, for some unknown reason, you cannot express a fraction as a decimal. A place where, in order to show you've done your work, you must supply a "Certificate of Mastery" to an electricity-based grade book, never to know for sure that your work has been fully submitted.     WHY!?

Nice Winter Break

The first time I've ever had a month off from classes. It was good, but tomorrow, classes start back up.   I think I'm technically a sophomore now, according to the hours..

I'm Proud

of my 3.50 GPA for the Fall semester.   Biology 110 - B Biology 110 Lab - A Chemistry 124 Lab - B English 105 - B Freshmen Seminar 104 - A Math 121 - A   I'm really proud of my Biology 110 grade. That's right, I said it. The guy who made a cumulative 4.0 GPA (basically all A's) all through out high school. That B was the best B I've ever made..... I need to get out more often..

You See That Over There?

That is the last final ahead - Biology.   I'm going to need a miracle to get through one of the hardest professor's finals tomorrow. It takes about 1 minute to read the question, about 2 minutes to think of an answer. He's said he puts about 150 questions for a 2 hour testing period.     Fun fact - For a 62-question Biology exam, it took me 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Snow

Sure, it's in Louisiana, yet my cousin, who lives in Massachusetts, tells me that it is about 70 degrees (Fahrenheit) there. The world is turning upside.. Whee!

Modern Warfare 2

O_O   I just finished one of the MOST epic game campaigns of our lifetime. People, understand: this game is so unbelievably insane. Story line, graphics, guns, the whole nine yards. It's easily Game of the Year.   I will NOT disclose any information from the campaign, just because it revealed so much that every step you take was a "jaw-drop" moment.     Disclaimer: The game is rated M for them mature folk. :wakeup2:
