BrickJournal™, BrickStructures™, Team Hassenplug, Team Possible, Team B-squared and Fun Time Technologies have joined forces and are pleased to announce Brickworld ‘07 to be held in Chicago. Brickworld™ is a chance to showcase your creations right here in the Central Midwest. Chicago being the third largest city in the U.S. naturally has a great deal to offer - including 3 Lego outlets. We are strategically placing the Brickworld location in the suburb of Wheeling, IL just 30 minutes northwest of downtown Chicago. Wheeling is conveniently located close to the expressway servicing O’hare Airport and is also half way between the 2 Lego outlets at Woodfield Mall and Northbrook Mall, each 15 minutes away. The 3rd Lego store is located downtown Chicago 30 minutes away.
The event will be held at the brand new 5 star Westin Hotel & Convention Center. The main ballroom offers 15,000 sq/ft and an additional 15,000 sq/ft around the ballrooms peripheral for small group sessions, competitions, demonstrations, The Great Build (more about that later), marketplace, etc.
BrickWorld ‘07 will be held from June 21st - 24th 2007. We are excited to bring this show to the public during a time of year when school is out and sunshine & good weather are in. The convention area will be open for setup the afternoon of June 21st for early birds. We will have a closed AFOL exhibitor day on Friday and public exhibition on Saturday, June 23rd and Sunday, June 24th. This June weekend is reserved at the site for the next 3 years, reinforcing this event as the one event not to miss!
BrickWorld attendees will be a part of a well organized, professionally run event that will draw the public from the greater Chicago area and provide them a show like they have never seen before. To do this, BrickWorld needs you!!
The floor organization of BrickWorld will be designed to accommodate large collaborative displays, such as the Great Ball Contraption, Moon Base, Castle and Train Layout, in the center of smaller, individual displays where each AFOL has their own creations on their own table(s). Of course, there will be certain displays that don’t even need a table.
Brickworld planning is moving forward quickly
To ensure the best possible room rates at the hotel, we would like to show them a HIGH level of interest by exhibitors.
Are you interested in being part of a premier LEGO event in Chicago? If so, please let us know.
The hotel will be finalizing rates on December 14th. So, we would love to see an outburst of response in emails to us showing if (1) you will attend and (2) if you will need room night accomondations.
You can reply to this post or go to the Brickworld website and send an email. http://www.brickworld.us
Stay tuned to Lugnet and the BrickWorld website www.Brickworld.us for details and registration information. Meanwhile, we welcome your ideas.
We look forward to seeing you all in Chicago!!!
Sincerely, The BrickWorld Team
Hello again fellow AFOLs!!
There is a cool logo on the web site.
Funny thing is I'm not an AFOL (I'm 16)
I expect that Omi, KIE, Binky, Cajun, and any other AFOLs and anyone at Brickfest would have gotten this, too.
Sounds pretty cool. Wish I could go. But I'll still be promoting it!
Is anyone going?
Do what ninjas do.
Oh, let's also remember the Lego ninjas, and how cool their swords are. I have four in grey and 15 in black! (all from brickfest)
HiiiiiYa! (thanx KIE!)

Well who's with me!?!?!?
I think I pretty much made my point.
What is Duct Tape, you ask?
Duct Tape is the best tape to use for almost anything, or everything. It should be in every emergency survival kit, and I always bring it on campouts. It comes in a variety of colors, including camo. (maybe even glow in the dark)
Tim and Jim, The Duct Tape guys, are totally awesome. I have their Page a Day desk calander, and am lovin' it!
I would love people to comment and add to this conversation on Duct Tape.
And now, from the Washington Post Magazine, 11/26/06, Joel Achenbach's Rough Draft "Please Fence Me In":
That's why congress should pass immediately a critical supplemental bill, the Duct Tape Act of 2006. Americans believe there is no problem so grave that we cannon solve it, in part, with duct tape.
Here are some more great quotes:
Yeah, go Duct Tape!
Actually, with the Monty Python and the Holy Grail theme, did anyone see the Spamalot float in the Macy's Day parade? They did the song "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life." Very good.
On the topic of Smamalot, anyone seen it? I haven't, but have heart the soundtrack, which is very funny. The play is supposed to be very funny, too.
It was fun. This was a campout where I just sat back and relaxed...er, did homework.
I enjoy camping and I will be going camping every month until june, where I will have summer camp and philmont. My troop goes camping every month.
There have been some commplaints, so I will make my first comment on this:
I like the nuva leg in the white one's set. (sorry, don't know names yet) For some, this is a new piece, or at least they don't have it yet, if they are new. Also, I've been thining about a nuva leg as a arm for a while now, and wouldn't mind it in some different colors.
Some call it unoriginal, I call it using resources and being different. It's not like each set comes with five of them.
What I don't like is the black legs on him. I would really like to have rahkshi legs in each color. but here is lego not making any white. (don't think I'm flaming lego, they are great, I just want some variety)
Well, that's my 2 cents now. I'll do more on other sets later.
note: if you disagree with me, please don't flame and please post an organized opinion.
