Firefly Pick Up Lines

ChocolateFrogs

Quick*, what are some good Firefly pick-up lines? Something that uses a quote, of course--something recognizable.

Or I could just start with a question. Sit down next to her and ask if she knows what the Chain of Command is.

*Quick meaning in a day.

... that one might not be the best reference.

Maybe something like "Did you know on some planets, people juggle geese?"

You're too pretty for God to let you die.

That might come off weird though. Most pickup lines do.

SPIRIT: Hey, is your butt glowing or are you just happy to see me?

Chocolate Frogs: Not that kind of firefly. :glare:

SPIRIT: Oh, how about this -- would you like a thousand hugs from ten thousand lightning bugs?

Chocolate Frogs: ... Get out of my blog!

Yes, I am perfectly aware that all of these are perfectly cheesy and horrible. But you're asking for them, so...

"How's this pick-up line? Pretty cunning, dontcha think?"

"Tell me, is a man still a man if he doesn't have a beautiful woman Does that seem right to you?"

"Now think real hard. You been bird-dogging my thoughts a while now. Now you can luxuriate in a nice dorm room, but if your hand touches mine, I swear by my pretty floral bonnet: I will date you."

"I'll take you out to dinner, then a movie, then to my dorm. And if you're very, very lucky, I'll do it in that order."

"The terrifying space monkeys told me to ask you out."

"Dear diary: Today I asked [girl's name] out on a date! It was the best date ever! Oh wait...I haven't done that yet."

"My kneecaps feel fuzzy whenever I think of you."

"I'd shave my beard for you if I had one."

"Dear Buddha: please bring me a pony, and a plastic rocket, and a date with [girl's name]-"

Well, if she answers, it's cool, but if not, yeah good point.

So I like this alternate suggestion.

I like it! (Maybe the second line though, not an immediate, "Hi, you're too pretty for God to let you die.")

Arpy, those seem a tad obscure... It needs to be an obvious reference.

"Hey, I heard you were also a fan of this cult television show with a minimal television audience that was canceled because no one watched it until after it was canceled and yet for some reason people are weirdly obsessed with it and it's director who has also achieved some sort of cult-like love even though he's had one successful project ever?"

See, I put it in quotes because you asked for a quote.

Out of curiosity, which project would that be? Because Toy Story was pretty successful, but he only helped write that.

But yeah, if you need pick-up lines to get a girl, something might be wrong. I think my examples demonstrated that. :P

Tempting and fun as the idea seems...I'd rather go with something more regular...unless you can deliver any of these lines 100% right at exactly the right moment^^

@Arpy:

Compared to everything else he's done, Buffy is his one standout hit.

And sure, he helped write Toy Story, but so did six other guys. And he's admitted his work on the screenplay was minimal compared to others.

Not to malign the guy, since I was posting in jest, but still. I don't really think he's a guy who deserves the vast geek-praise he gets. Some praise? Absolutely. As much as he gets? No.

Don't listen to most of the guys here except maybe for Andrew and Pat. For the love of all that's sacred, do not do this if you are really interested in this gal, Ben. Pickup lines don't work like they do in the movies.

I guess by pick-up line I meant more so a catchy way to say "hi" and start a conversation. First lines to get a smile and show a similarity of interest.

As for Joss Whedon, I have liked everything by him I've seen (Firefly, Dollhouse, Dr. Horrible, Toy Story) and look forward to The Avengers and whatever he does after that. I'll check out Buffy eventually. There are not many writers and directors I know names of, so for me he's pretty important to pay attention to.

There are a bunch of other great shows out there, but Whedon had done his quite well too.

Hey, Ben, have you told everybody the full story, because out of context, it does seem like a rather odd idea you've come up with. ;)
