My favorite encounter is three dragons outside Autumnwatch Tower at the very beginning of my third playthrough.

 

I have no idea if it was a glitch or extremely poor luck because Bethesda.

Oh, yeesh. That's rough, buddy.

 

This one wound up being a four way battle as I had to bring in Durnehviir to even survive, and then some Frost trolls got caught up in the melee, too.

 

Plus a random guard.

Good lord thank goodness for Skyrim's dramatically huge object limit.

in the middle of my first playthrough right now - last week i got hit with two blood dragons at once on the way back from ysgramor's tomb. so i was already nearly out of arrows, i was using faendal as a companion, and i had to spam beast mode with the ring of hircine to even make it out alive

protip: get dawnguard. includes one of the best companions, who's also essential to boot.

Serana. Level 93 in 1h and Light armor, level 100 inn Sneak, and 88 in Conjuration. And always essential forever.
