Nektann

Got the Piraka Stars set (AKA Nektann) at Wal-Mart yesterday, meaning I now own four of the six Stars. I was trying to decide between Nektann and the Rahkshi, but I decided Nektann was cooler and bought him.

Nektann's pretty cool. I like his spine, which is similar to the kind the original Piraka had only smaller and with no tail. His Crescent Scyth is pretty cool as well and can be sort of thought of as a double weapon like Zaktan's sword/claw or Reidak's buzzsaw/drill, for example. He even has orange eyes like the original Piraka had, and clawed feet, too!

The only things I suppose I would have changed was given him light-up eyes and maybe a Zamor sphere launcher, too. But I can understand how that might be too expensive to do, so whatever. I also would have given him the trademark Piraka teeth, but considering his head construction that would have been a difficult thing to do without making him look strange or making his head too heavy.

Regardless, I'm happy with my purchase and plan to pick up Rahkshi and Skrall next, probably for my birthday, to complete my collection and get all six pieces of the Golder Armor (my older brother decided he didn't want to get any of the Stars, so they're all mine now. Mwahahaha!).

At the Wal-Mart I bought Nektann, they had all six of the Stars available. Strangely, while there were a few Tahus, Greshs, and several Takanuvas and Nektanns (guess they weren't that popular there or something), there were only one Rahkshi and one Skrall set each. I find that odd, since the brown/yellow/orange and black sets aren't usually the best of sellers. Granted, there were only like two or three Tahus left, but I still find the fact that there were only one Rahkshi and one Skrall available an odd thing just the same.

I also got my first up-close look at the Ben 10 sets (or at least their boxes, anyway). Didn't buy any, but I admit the red one with the yellow glider thing (don't know its name) looked decent, so maybe if I see it on sale sometime I'll pick it up. Fifteen dollars USD is just way too much IMO, even if they are made entirely out of new pieces.
