Here is what I have recenty purchased off of Amazon.com:

-Heroes of Olympus, Book One: The Lost Hero, by Rick Riordan. The sequel series to the Percy Jackson series, it is completely and utterly awesome. Won't spoil anything, but I'll just say that I cannot wait for fall 2011 to get here fast enough so I can read the second book. Well worth the money IMO.

-Sons of Texas, by Elmer Kelton. My youth pastor recommended this book to me and so far it's been interesting. Haven't finished it yet, but it has definitely caught my interest well enough.

-The Demigod Files, by Rick Riordan. An interesting guidebook to the Percy Jackson universe, which I read after I finished TLH (this book arrived in the mail after TLH, by the way). My favorite of the three short stories in it was probably the one where Percy, Thalia, and Nico were summoned by Queen Persephone to retrieve Hades' sword, although the other two were cool as well.

The only thing I don't quite like about this book is the pictures of some of the characters. While some of them, such as Ares and Grover, look almost exactly as I imagined them to look, others, such as Athena and Annabeth, look practically nothing like how I imagined them. I think I prefer my own mental pictures to those, although I do like Poseidon's picture better than my own mental picture of him. Good book nonetheless.

-Fat Albert's Halloween Special DVD. Betcha you were expecting something like The Kane Chronicles or another book, eh? Well, too bad, 'cause Fat Albert is awesome. My brothers and I watched the series on Hulu a while ago and when I saw they had this on Amazon, we just had to buy it. We plan to watch it on Halloween, so I can't say whether it is any good or not. With luck, it will be chock full of corny jokes, badly written plots, animation errors, and stock footage just like the rest of the series :P .

All of the above costed roughly $28. I think it was $28 well spent, in my opinion.
