So today there was a Solar Eclipse that was reportedly "visible across the entire U.S.A." I hope you all liked it. However, I might point out the inherent dishonesty of the media. It was not visible across the entire U.S.A. I had my car break down in the middle of nowhere, heading down from Canada through the Dakotas. The nearest population center was 69 miles away. And I had no phone reception. Plus my phone battery was dead anyway. Not so bad -- at least I have an eclipse to watch, right?
During the eclipse itself, a giant thunderstorm came over South Dakota so heavy that we got flash flood alerts.
There's more. It made for a heckuva road trip story when the fam in Canada asked me how my trip home went.
