We're also the only country to crash a Mars Rover because we couldn't covert from imperial to SI.

 

Don't get me wrong, I still can't accurately judge measurements in metric because I'm so used to the US standard. But if you can't divide 10 by 3, then you just never learned fractions.

 

(Also, for the record, neither Myanmar nor Liberia have yet reached the moon, as far as I can tell.)

 

 

There is absolute no justifying the metric system. That being said, we'll never change, because trying to switch now would be almost as difficult as trying to get the country to abandon the english language.

Interesting.  I actually decided to write up another blog entry about that Fahrenheit and Celsius thingy.

 

Honestly, if I were to make up my own temperature measurement for matters of physics, not weather or chemistry, it would go from Absolute Zero (which would be 0, obviously) to the Planck Temperature, which would be a a Colossally Abundant Number like 224403121196654400.
