Energy is a lot different. It would most likely be a legendary element because yunno it controls fire, lightning, etc. While, Kinetics has limits, as Bonesii has pointed out.

it still seems overpowered

How?

Bonesii has stated all of the limits. He/She can still run out of elemental energy, cannot react to all attacks, and can still get owned by metaphysical ones.

Honestly, it is overexaggeration on people's part about it being overpowered.

Overpowered = Lightning. Seriously, you can create fire by blasting flammable objects, if you can hold a current at maximum power long enough, you could power something, you can electroctue things easily, and your only natural enemy is rubber.

Also, Kinetic's refers to a certain type of Energy. Like Psionics, it is a stupid and unneeded element (though my psionic rant is about 50 pages long and has no repeated statements), and just another way to make fans happy about a new element, except for those like me. Kinetic energy would be reffering to movement, while "energy" could refer to two things: A ) Elemental Powers, as most people think, or as my mask works, B ), which is when you can increase the physical energy of a being.

Kinetic's does not give you any sort of other Elemental Power. It's just based on movement. Theoretically, it goes hand and hand with magnetism and gravity, only this refers to the bodies energy, the former refers to metals attracting energy, and the later refers to the force that a planet or large celestial object puts upon smaller objects.
