BrickFair 2013

Posted by Brappy Hour , Jan 16 2013 · 352 views

Yes. I'm already planning for it.  I even have a design in mind for this years T-shirt.
Actually I've been wanting to ask how people feel about how LEGO discontinued the discounts for BrickFair attendees. I know that they announced it in their email newsletter, but I wanted to see if people would still go to the LEGO store during BrickFair without the discount. Personally I probably would. I can't help being a Hero Factory fan. So I would do what I did last year, and build all the summer sets for everyone to see. :P
And seeing the new trailer for Brain Attack, it looks like there might be some larger sets this year. Boy do I miss building huge those Bionicle models. Why are Hero Factory sets so tiny?
Anyway let me know what you think.
Thanks for reading, Raptor.

I don't think I could go to a LEGO convention and not buy at least one new LEGO set at the store, even if they aren't giving discounts anymore.

I've only ever bought parts at conventions, as I've always found them more useful in what I build than sets. I can't even remember the last set I bought.

While the discounts are great, they're not the main reason I go to Brickfair. It helps that I live in the area. Might go to the LEGO store; might not. But chances are "not going to the LEGO store during Brickfair" just means "going to the LEGO store some other time when there's a good sale/double VIP points".

I almost wish this WERE enough to convince me not to go, because Bronycon is the VERY SAME WEEKEND. But alas, I'm registered for Brickfair and already have an idea of some MOCs I'll want to bring. Plus, I have to say I'll probably enjoy myself a lot more in a familiar situation than in a convention where I'll be surrounded by total strangers and will have to make sense of my surroundings and schedule. Someday, though, I'll have to start expanding my horizons.
