LEGO Octodad Preliminary Designs

Finally rendered some rough images of my current design for a LEGO Octodad set. The minifigs lack most of their printing, since I don't have nearly the skill to attempt it. The only printing applied is the face for the titular character.

It is, unfortunately, a pretty bland design based on the aquarium, the setting for most of Dadliest Catch. The included minifigs are Octodad, Scarlet, Stacy, Tommy, two Marine Biologists, Joe, and the Chef. It's a lot, so I'd imagine if this made it to the end they'd probably cut some, which is a shame, because I felt I included only essentials. Also included is an orange Octopus to represent Octodad in the level Shark Naked, as well as the hammerhead shark featured in the center tank.

That's not light grey, it's white; POV Ray seems to render white as a sort of grayish off-white. Additionally, some of the pieces are purely wishful/convenient thinking. I doubt a clear flickfire would be in the final model if it made it that far.

Any comments and criticisms would be appreciated.

Oh, OK, cool. I haven't played the game so I don't know the scene in question, but it's well built.

I sort of think that Octodad would be better-suited to a non-minifig-based set with a larger figure, maybe built with the Mixels joints, to really capture the wonky, awkward movement that makes Octodad as a character and as a game so unique. As a minifigure, he almost feels too normal. But I can't help but love the use of the LEGO Movie mustache piece, and the Mixels eyes on the classic LEGO octopus — something I can't believe I hadn't tried out for myself as soon as I got some of those eye pieces!
