I think that mass of gold is actually a bit over-the-top, honestly (and the heavy industrial look of those parts doesn't work as well in gold). Frankly, replacing the gold with silver would probably look better, and you could do it with existing parts to boot.

idk I like the gold. I think it works well with black and purple.

 

it would also work with the armor in silver, I'm sure, but I can't say I see the gold as being any more over-the-top than Kopaka's golden shoulder pads.

Making those parts all silver would probably be good.

Same goes for Kopaka's ridiculous goldstuffs. It doesn't really...fit him. If they were the same color as his skeleton (Trans Ice Blue, or whatever the color is called) it would be great.

I feel Kopaka really OWNS the gold. It looks great on him, and helps to keep him from feeling too monochromatic.

 

Onua, on the other hand, has those gorgeous purple shells for that purpose, so I don't think the gold is as necessary.

ehhh i like the gold, a bit more than the full silver though that might just be my "ugh silver" bias since we've received so much silver

The color layering decisions of set designers have baffled me since around 2007.

This looks pretty wicked, though I'm still not sure about that amount of gold. I'd like to see black shoulders.
