Victorion

Whiny fans keep blaming Hasbro for Victorion having two helicopters.

She's a fan-built bot. People voted for her limbs. People voted for two helicopters, not Hasbro.

Sure, hate the helicopters. (I don't; I think they give some nice symmetry to her.) But don't blame Hasbro for following the fans' votes.

I've also seen a lot of complaints about the color scheme. I'm not a Transformers fan, but I think the color scheme is decent. It's well-organized, for the most part, and while it could come across as "eye-searing", I personally think that gives it a sort of retro charm. She'd look great on one of those blacklight posters. :P

Well, I'm not QUITE sure about the colors yet (they bug me a little but then again all the photos I've seen look in general oversaturated so maybe they're not that bad in person) but, again, that was a thing fans voted for, so, again, really not entirely on Hasbro here.

Does Hasbro only have one helicopter though. I mean, it doesn't really bother me much either, but I'd think if they were gonna have two helicopters they would at least be different ones. Though I guess it is likely that they only had the one that had combining capabilities. It's fine, anyway.

She looks cool overall, though. I like the color scheme a lot. I've been considering getting back to buying a few Transformers lately since the whole combiner wars deal is pretty cool, so I may consider buying Victorion when she comes out. The colors are nice.

I think their logic right now is, hey, they've got one serviceable helicopter combiner mold, and there's really not a lot you can do with a helicopter that becomes both a robot and a limb. I think, unless a character DEMANDED a unique transformation, they'd rather put resources into making new vehicles than the same vehicles that just transform in new ways.

Plus we'd lose the symmetry and the twins thing that way.

(only occurred to me after typing that that you might mean different helicopter models, but again, it's thinking if it's really worth it to reshell the helicopter mold to be a slightly different helicopter just for the sake of variety.)

I meant both things, I guess? Different choppers and different robot modes. But considering that every single part of Victorion is just a retool, it's not like it'd make much sense to expect them to whip up a new figure just for a leg, so yeah, it's not a very big deal.

No it really was at least partially the fault of Hasbro's polls. They held all four limb polls simultaneously with the exact same choices... So people who might have liked one helicopter very likely did vote just once... In different polls. Leading to two winning.

Didn't help that the choices were so limited to begin with because a good number of the limb molds weren't in it, but it's not just the "fans" at fault in this case. Nevermind trying to say that just because it won a poll doesn't mean it's what all fans would like and we should suck it up and accept it.

could have been worse. every limb could have been a helicopter. then Victorion would have been a quadcopter and you would never find her in any store because all the dads would buy her up

Well, that's certainly not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that, whether you like it or not, blaming the fan-built combiner on Hasbro is absurd. If LEGO held a series of polls for building a Toa, and your least favorite mask won, would you yell at LEGO for choosing your least favorite mask?

Anyway, I should think that, for helicopter to win both polls, there would still need to be a considerable amount of people voting helicopter over the other two options. After all, both cars also had the same choices, yet two different cars were chosen.

I mean, if Superion can be all-plane, I think Victorion being all-helicopter wouldn't be too strange.

I'm pretty satisfied with how Victorion turned out. To be completely honest, I originally thought the five new fembots from MTMTE (Firestar, Roadmaster, Velocity, Proxima, and Javelin) would compose Victorion, but soon realized that all of these necessitate completely unique molds.
