Skyrim Adventure, Part 34: In Which I Carry Out My Lifelong Dream Of Becoming A Chef

I returned to the Sanctuary for the next part of Operation: Kill the King. I was to kill the Emperor's chef and take his place. Before doing so, I returned the heartscales to the College mage and got some Alteration spells.

I arrived in Markarth and entered the Keep. I talked to the Jarl's chef and persuaded him to tell me the identity of "The Gourmet," the Emperor's chef. Then I killed him. NO WITNESSES

I found the Gourmet standing on a dock outside an inn. I killed him and dropped his body in the water under the dock. With the real Gourmet out of the way and his identification papers in my pocket, I went to Solitude and put on my chef's hat. Literally.

seems legit

I poisoned the dinner with my "secret ingredient" (THE SECRET IS IT KILLS YOU HAHAHA). I waited for the Emperor to die then made my escape. Outside I was met by guards; one of the Brotherhood had betrayed me to ensure their safety. Too bad the Commander planned on eliminating the Brotherhood anyway. I was also informed the man I just killed was a body double. What a shame. I slaughtered everyone and returned to the Sanctuary. It was under attack and ON FIRE. Festus was dead, Vazeera was dead, Gabriella was dead, the pet spider was dead. We lost a lot of good men that day. I helped Nazir in a fight and we prepared to leave. The Night Mother beckoned me to join her in her coffin again, and I did.

When the fire died down, Nazir unburied it and let me out. The Mother told me to find Astrid. She was lying on the ground burned, and in the center of a circle of candles. She had performed the Black Sacrament. She was the traitor, and asked to be put out of her misery. I obliged and set out to end what got us into this mess. It was time to assassinate the Emperor.

I returned to Amaund, the man who wanted the Emperor killed. He told me the location of him, as well as the Commander. Since the Commander was on my way, I stopped by and slid a dagger into his chest. Sweet, sweet revenge. I made it to the boat that the Emperor was staying on. I fought through his guards and made it to his room. He accepted his death, and asked that I consider killing the man who ordered it.

I killed him, returned to Amaund to turn in, and carried out the Emperor's dying wish.
