That made me lol, and I don't know why.

You don't 'own' a cat. If anything, it owns you.

Dogs have owners, cats have staff.

If aliens are looking at us through some kind of telescope, who are they gonna think are the dominant spieces?

Not staff. Staff get paid.

IIRC, the BZP staff doesn't, except maybe at the admin level.
