Anyone know a good way to clean a disc that DOESN'T involve sticking it in a sink?

Create a .iso file from the disc, get a program that you can use to read CD-images, put both of those onto a USB-stick, aaaand done =D

I usually dampen a tissue and then rub the disk lightly along the radius. It's worked in the past.
