Lego Store Review, Colorado Mills

Well, while Cherixon was here in Colorado, he and I devised that we might meet at the Lego store in Colorado Mills. Well, it didn't quite work out, but hey, I got to go to a Lego store for the first time ever. It was worth it. I'll show ya some pics on it. Click on the thumbnails for large images.
I made that shirt so Cherixon could have identified me. I actually was on the back, but I turned the shirt around for the pic.
So, first some establishing shots of the inside. It's actually a considerably small store, probably not much more then 100 x 100 feet. But man did they make use of their space. Isles, barrels, shelfs, hangers, everything. It was pretty cool.

So, even though it should show the whole store in those photos, you really don't get much. That's why I'm here. Well, when you walk in, what do you see? You first see a couple Lego displays in glass cases, a sign that says "All orders over $30 get a free Lego Tractor while supplies last", and just sets everywhere. Starwars sets to your left, and City sets to your right; #1 and #2 selling Lego themes. In the glass cases, there are a few Starwars sets, and the same Pirate ship that was recently reviewed here on BZP (Whoazah, that thing is HUGE), and a couple others that I forget. 
Well, what do you see once you get past the glass cases? You see a giant Spongebob model. As much as I hate Spongebob, and just about all Cartoon Network for that matter (Nothing against you guys, k?), it was still pretty cool. It had this thing where if you signed up, and if you guessed the closest number of bricks in the entire model, you got it. I was tempted to write "Way too many"

While you see Spongebob, there are rows of stuff on both sides, just assorted stuff like Harry Potter, Space Police, etc. Nothing that really grabbed my eye. What did grab my eye was the build-it-yourself Minifig station. For $10, you can build yourself any 3 Minifigs with 5 parts, Hair/Hat, accessory, body, head, and legs. Pretty nice deal, took advantage of it for sure. B)

After you get past that, and a little to your left, you see 2 tree-like things with tubs in them. All the tubs had bricks in them. You can get either a small or large cup ($8 and $15), and whatever fits inside with the lid closed is yours. I made sure I ripped them off this one. I'll tell you more what I got later. B)

Most frustrating thing about the cup deal was that they didn't have many normal pieces. Sure, they had 1x4x1/3 bricks with cool dials and switches patterning, and sure they had thousands of small, 1x1x1/3 bricks that were translucent teal, but did they have any bins with just 2x6x1 red bricks? Nooo. Did they have any 2x6x1/3 green bricks? Nooo. I had to ask for those, and they didn't even have them. But I got a good substitute, so it was worth it.
Ok, so I'm kicking myself because I didn't get a shot of the Digital Box. This thing was AWESOME. On most of the bigger sets (OF COURSE, none of the Bionicle sets) you'd take the set and walk over the this yellow box thing with a screen. It would somehow scan the box and, on the screen, add a projection of what the set was. Firetruck with little boat thingy? The firetruck would appear on the screen, driving around on the box while the raft circled the box. What boggled my mind was, if you tilted the box, the digital image tilted too! 
Most awesome thing in the store, and I hadn't a clue how it works. But it was AWESOME.
And finally, we have the checkout. Nothing special, aside from the legion of Minifig keychains that hung beside it. I mean, everything. And yes, =LOTF=, they had Firax there on a keychain. I totally thought about you when I saw it. B) But you know how I mentioned that they were giving those Tractors away? Well, I got $50 of Lego, so I got the last one. How rocking is that? The last one.
