Good job Nickelodeon, you broke it.

Alternative title: "This is why we can't have nice things."

So for those who aren't aware, net weeks episode of Legend of Korra will be the last episode to air on Nick. the rest are through digital streaming.

Something about low ratings or something, but I don't know, maybe, just maybe if they bothered to let people know that something watchable was airing we wouldn't have this issue.

But, you know, if a show doesn't have enough viewers, just put it somewhere else. that'll fix it.

Apparently the reason that the season 3 premier wasn't really advertised is because choosing to air it that day was a super last minute decision, all because the early episodes leaked online. Or something like that?

Anyway, as someone who only watches the episodes on the Nickelodeon website (assuming that's the streaming service they'll use), this doesn't really bother me. At least not as much as the low viewership does. I would like the last season to not get cancelled on account of bad ratings.

From what I've heard the last season is too far in to be cancelled. But from what I can tell that's the only reason they're still doing it.

I'm sad that it's getting low rating when this season has been better than the last two, easily.

I think the first season was pure gold, personally.

The second was... well, Avatar Wan saved it... kinda...  (because his story was totes fetch).

This one is looking very promising, I agree, but I'll save my "best thing ever" sticker if and when it surpasses season one in my eyes.  =P

As for the streaming, I've watched new Korra episodes online before and it's not that big a deal.  Plus no (or at least fewer) commercials to skip over!

But the fact that it's streaming only means they don't give a hoot about it. Which means we're less likely to see it, or shows like it to return.

I loved the first and second season (so many wonderful lessons about family in that second season — no idea why it's so underrated), and this season is just as good if not better! I am very glad it's not being cancelled altogether, and I'm definitely tuning in to watch tomorrow's episode.

I think there will always be a niche for shows like Korra, especially with how much the media has been celebrating it. If Nickelodeon won't provide a home for those kinds of shows, it's only a matter of time before some other network or platform shows up to take advantage of the big networks' lack of foresight and initiative by embracing this sort of media.
