So I've been writing some poetry lately, and I have two poems I thought were worth sharing on BZP. I'm generally pretty hesitant to post any of my writings, because I'm an extreme perfectionist; but I figured I'd see what you guys think. And maybe I can even start posting poetry more regularly.

My Light
The sun, the moon and stars combined, don't even compare to the light that shines, that pierces, deep into my heart.
The light that radiates, that captivates, that enchants my soul.
The light that fills my dreams at night, never leaving my thoughts, nor mind.
This light that brightens everything around me, that illuminates my world.
How could it be that such a light would know me—
Me, an undeserving man, so blessed beyond words.

Love So Sweet
Precious words so gently spoken,
To such a simple man so lost and broken;
To her he gives his only token,
Of love so tender and outspoken,
Of love so sweet.
One of billions of grains of sand,
Goes off to a distant, faraway land.
People laugh and shake their heads—
They laugh at me for dreaming yet,
Of the grain of sand in a distant, faraway land.
The clock has frozen, time stands still;
I sit beside the window sill.
No chance to cry, no chance until,
Time thaws the frost that holds it still.
I sit unmoving beside the window sill.
Forgotten songs of timeless light,
So kind, so pure, so full and bright,
Remembered from a time before,
Of love so tender and outspoken,
Of love so sweet.
