Gradius - #4

Posted by Sir Voltex the Blue , in Video Games Sep 04 2012 · 125 views

I don't think I've ever played Gradius, but I really really want to when looking at this box art. Obviously the game can't hope to have epicness of this magnitude within, but I can dream that it does.

Besides, those '80s space shooters are all the best things ever anyway. Even when they rock your socks every single attempt (I'm looking at you, Axelay).

Portal - #3

Posted by Sir Voltex the Blue , in Video Games Sep 01 2012 · 125 views

The third box art of the day is none other than the wonderlicious game Portal, with a very simple piece of art used that defines the game perfectly. The lines give it depth, making it seem as if this figure is falling into the portal below, and we have faded Aperture Science hazard warnings in the background. The one question I have about this is about why they made this figure male when the game stars a female, but it doesn't really matter.

Boxart of the Day #2

Posted by Sir Voltex the Blue , in Video Games, Film/Shows Aug 29 2012 · 88 views

The second box art to be given the honor on this blog is none other than Red vs. Blue: The Recollection Boxset, which gives us a nice feel of tone, action and several characters without feeling cluttered. Click the thumbnail to see more.

As a side note, I was actually going to put Far Cry 3 up here, but I'm not entirely certain that the box art for that is appropriate for BZPower.

Boxart of the Day #1

Posted by Sir Voltex the Blue , in Video Games Aug 28 2012 · 76 views

Been feeling like starting some silly daily blog thing for awhile now, and figured I might as well shove video games and movies in too. That said, the very first box art of the day is...

Mario Party 9.
Although a little over saturated, I really enjoy the Super Mario Galaxy style glow everything has, and I also appreciate how many characters they stuffed into it while keeping the box action packed but not cluttered. Good on you, Nintendo. Now give us a boxart this good for the next Smash Bros.

The Best Video Game of All Time

Posted by Sir Voltex the Blue , in Video Games Jul 29 2012 · 175 views

Definitely Superman 64. B-)
I've been playing it like, nonstop the past two weeks. I just can't get enough of it! Whoever designed this is a genius.

Who needs Portal?

BZPCraft #10

Would anyone like to team up with me for this one? :P I feel like it would be more fun for me if I did so, and I might live longer. Maybe.

I just looked at the list and realized what I've done to myself.

Bzpcraft 8

Considering it was my first time, I wasn't surprised when MI just came out of nowhere and killed me. xD Third one dead out of eight isn't that bad, right? Right?

Anyway, I was never going to win anyway- all I'd found was iron, and not much, while everyone else seemed to be finding diamonds left and right.

Still lots of fun though- unfortunately, it looks like I'll have to wait until after summer to play in another.

I'm Thinking With Portals, But Which One?

Posted by Sir Voltex the Blue , in Life, Video Games Jun 28 2012 · 128 views

Trying to decide between four pictures for my new desktop:

The Cake is a Lie

These Robots Are Friends

Wheatley Sees You

Portals Make Paradox

You decide.

Meet The Pyro

Holy mother of god, that was amazing. Best Meet the Team video, hands down. Even if you don't play Team Fortress 2, you HAVE to see this video!

Loved the interview segments at the beginning, and the Pyro's point of view... holy... it's undescribable.
