The Front Page

Posted by Sir Voltex the Blue , in BZP Library, Life Jul 20 2014 · 62 views

I've been using the mobile skin and going directly to my notifications ever since I left, so I totally missed the fact that Bionicle Mafia Book 1: Isolation made it onto the front page.

So that's pretty awesome. I'm hoping to get a week off in august so that I can go home for a bit and work on Book 2 some more before the summer ends; right now I am aiming for an October release.

Book 2 - NEW NARRATOR REVEALED!

Posted by Sir Voltex the Blue , in BZP Library Jun 20 2014 · 90 views

“I was not expecting for you to actually show up,” Xaeraz said casually, glancing over to the hulking form of the Makuta that had entered the room, the door hissing shut and vanishing out of view as it blended with the wall. “I thought you would remain in hiding... or that perhaps you were already long gone.”

He held an arm in his lap, and blood dripped from the detached limb if he jostled it enough. The limb had a dual purpose; the first was to help him, and the second was to cover up the specialized weapon so that Makuta Luroka could not see it.

First they would talk, and then Luroka would perish.

“I would offer you a seat,” Xaeraz continued, “but I doubt you could do anything but crush the chair.”

Luroka grunted and stalked forward, knocking the chair aside and halting in front of the small table that sat between the two of them. Xaeraz ignored the way the shadows seemed to grow around the Makuta. Brushing his fingers along the weapon concealed in his lap, Xaeraz spoke again.

“You’re awfully quiet today.”

“I have never been the most outspoken of Makuta,” Luroka growled, his voice deep, guttural, and ruthlessly cold. “Others speak enough as it is. And often, I have others to speak my words for me.”

“That is true,” Xaeraz agreed. “Although Sumiki isn’t here right now....”

“He holds no illusions as to your intentions,” Luroka said. “You would kill him before he could set foot in this room.”

“And you do not believe I would do the same to you?”

“I stand here as proof that you would not do the same to me... and I am a Makuta. You have no hope of overpowering me. My cooperation with you thus far has been entirely of my own accord, and it shall remain that way.”

Deciding to leave that particular issue of loyalty alone for the moment, Xaeraz pushed on. “You know, I thought I could trust you and Sumiki. I thought you were working for me... or at least with me. But you broke the rules of my little game... you refused to follow my agenda... and to me that suggests that you both have an agenda of your own.”

The Makuta regarded him silently, and under the table Xaeraz clenched his fists to avoid allowing his anger to show on his face.

“I take it,” the Fe-Matoran said, “that your silence means I was not the only one you were working with. Who else has your attentions? Please, enlighten me – after all, I will surely not be walking away from this meeting.”

“Your cause has long been a lost one,” Luroka said. “I know of your bloodlust and what brought it forth. I understand the depths of your madness perhaps even more clearly than those who afflicted it upon you, for it was I who gave them the idea in the first place."

----

Yes, Xaeraz is one of the narrators of Bionicle Mafia Book 2: Extraction, joining Voltex and three (four?) others.

Who else will share their point of view?

A Quick Update

Posted by Sir Voltex the Blue , in BZP Library Apr 29 2014 · 105 views

From the Prologue 2 of Bionicle Mafia Uprising, Book 2:
“Well, you are now!” TBK snapped back. “I don’t know what Luroka did to you, Voltex, and I’m not sure what has you so bloody riled up, and quite frankly, I don’t really care. All I want to do is get off of this godforsaken island and go home and have some peace and quiet! So grow up, deal with it, and go talk to the officer!”

Voltex was on his feet in a flash, stalking over to the Po-Matoran with his cloak fluttering behind him as he stopped right in front of TBK, staring the Po-Matoran down. TBK met his glare, holding it defiantly.

“I was one of the best fighters in Bionifight,” Voltex said quietly. “Do you really want to be on the receiving end of my abilities?”

“Go ahead,” TBK said vehemently. “Keep in mind that you’ve already committed murder on this island – one more will just give the law enough proof to pin it all on you.”

Clenching his fist as his throat tightened, Voltex shut his eyes and stepped back, turning away to face the sea again before slumping. “I didn’t want to – it was the only way for us to get out.”

---

So I'm busy writing away at this thing - I know exactly what I want to do in order to fix the oneshot I'm working on and the prologue of Book 2 is nearly 5000 words (we'll see if that's what we can expect out of every chapter...). Alongside that, Side Project A is still in the works, and I've seen the outline for Side Project B - hopefully both will be ready for a full announcement soon! ;)

Until next time!

Time to Begin

Posted by Sir Voltex the Blue , in BZP Library Apr 26 2014 · 78 views

The outline for Book 2 of Bionicle Mafia Uprising is complete, and is over 5000 words long itself. I am still debating about whether an additional narrative POV would benefit the story; if I decide it will, then the outline is still incomplete.

It will be at least twice the size of Book 1, for those who felt that Book 1 was rather short.

I shall begin writing Book 2 proper this week; for now, enjoy a brief teaser of what else is coming:

Mayhem.

Mafia Epic: Ending and Info

Posted by Sir Voltex the Blue , in BZP Library Apr 22 2014 · 57 views

First off, the epilogue.

Next, some info:

1. The cast of Book 2 has been finalized, aside from a few other additions I'll be making as needed along the way.
2. There are four things in the works for before Book 2 is released; one will wait until just before Book 2's release to be posted as it's basically a direct lead-in, but the other three should hopefully go up sometime soonish. More info on them later.
3. Not info, but if you'd like to hop in and add to the series, shoot me a PM!
4. Book 2 will not feature all of the same narrators as Book 1 did - but I will guarantee that at least one narrator from Book 1 narrates Book 2. ;)
5. The full character list for Book 2 (along with the title) will be released soon.

Teaser

Posted by Sir Voltex the Blue , in BZP Library Apr 05 2014 · 88 views

Since I was a little distracted this week and am just now finishing up the next chapter of Isolation, I figured I'd give you all a scene from the upcoming chapter to tide you over until I publish it.

Orrrr I'm giving you a teaser just to DRIVE YOU MAD WITH SUSPENSE!

Teaser
“Let’s just put the guns down,” Voltex said. “One of you is a Traitor... that’s fine. We can work past it.”

“The guard,” Pupwa said.

“Huh?”

“The guard,” the Le-Matoran repeated. “At the hub of motors, when you met with the Automaton. Do you remember?”

“Yeah,” Voltex said slowly, remembering the irritable Matoran that had nearly refused him entry. “Wasn’t the greatest service I’ve ever received.”

“It was me,” said Pupwa. “I am the guard.”

“You were the... but I thought you were from BZ-Koro...” Voltex said, confused.

The Le-Matoran shook his head. “Was lying – cover story. I work for the White Council for much money, very profitable. Take out targets, hired for Xaeraz to kill.”

“You’re not making any sense,” Voltex said.

“The White Council hired him to kill Xaeraz,” Zakaro translated, his gaze fixed on Pupwa’s.

Pupwa nodded. “Supposed to kill when drawn out, but won’t happen. You do it, Voltex.”

“Wait,” Voltex said, realizing what was about to happen. “Don’t shoot! Don’t shoot each other!”

Before either of the Matoran could fire, the door was slammed open, revealing the familiar form of Voxumo. Voltex sagged in relief, gesturing towards Zakaro and Pupwa. “Thank Tohu you’re here! They’re about to kill each other!”

The Ko-Matoran glanced from Zakaro to Pupwa and then swung the scythe.
