So that Co-Op thing

Posted by Voltex , in Video Games Sep 15 2012 · 131 views

Is there anyone who owns Portal 2 that would like to try some co-op with a total noob who hasn't played the game before
or
do you think I'll be too godawful to attempt it

Black Mesa

Downloading it now. I've never played the original Half-Life, so hopefully this'll be worth it. I hear you only need a Source Engine game to run it?

Or am I gonna be "forced" to go buy Half-Life 2?

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - #6

Posted by Voltex , in Video Games Sep 07 2012 · 462 views

Our next box art of the day is Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, the game that rebooted the Castlevania franchise for a modern audience. Having never played it nor done any research (I'm so bad at this), I don't know who it is on the cover, but I do know that he looks pretty sick. His red cape contrasts very nicely with the mostly blue tone of the rest of the box, and the castle behind nicely foreshadows what will occur in the game.

Again, if you have any requests feel free to put them in the comments!

Rayman Legends - #5

Posted by Voltex , in Video Games Sep 06 2012 · 394 views

Posted ImageAs per request, the fifth box art of the day is none other than the upcoming Rayman Legends for Wii U. Personally one of my most anticipated games of the year, my most looked forward to Wii U launch/near launch title, and the sequel to the stellar Rayman Origins from last year, Rayman Legends will be a must-have.

This box art actually goes well with the Wii U's odd blue and yellow template, which I think might turn into a bit of a rarity in the coming years. It's also very beautiful when compared to the Rayman Origins box art. I'm just questioning who the girl with the axe is, and why Globox and both Teensies are absent.

Gradius - #4

Posted by Voltex , in Video Games Sep 04 2012 · 128 views

I don't think I've ever played Gradius, but I really really want to when looking at this box art. Obviously the game can't hope to have epicness of this magnitude within, but I can dream that it does.

Besides, those '80s space shooters are all the best things ever anyway. Even when they rock your socks every single attempt (I'm looking at you, Axelay).

Portal - #3

The third box art of the day is none other than the wonderlicious game Portal, with a very simple piece of art used that defines the game perfectly. The lines give it depth, making it seem as if this figure is falling into the portal below, and we have faded Aperture Science hazard warnings in the background. The one question I have about this is about why they made this figure male when the game stars a female, but it doesn't really matter.

Boxart of the Day #2

Posted by Voltex , in Video Games, Film/Shows Aug 29 2012 · 90 views

The second box art to be given the honor on this blog is none other than Red vs. Blue: The Recollection Boxset, which gives us a nice feel of tone, action and several characters without feeling cluttered. Click the thumbnail to see more.

As a side note, I was actually going to put Far Cry 3 up here, but I'm not entirely certain that the box art for that is appropriate for BZPower.

Boxart of the Day #1

Posted by Voltex , in Video Games Aug 28 2012 · 78 views

Been feeling like starting some silly daily blog thing for awhile now, and figured I might as well shove video games and movies in too. That said, the very first box art of the day is...

Mario Party 9.
Although a little over saturated, I really enjoy the Super Mario Galaxy style glow everything has, and I also appreciate how many characters they stuffed into it while keeping the box action packed but not cluttered. Good on you, Nintendo. Now give us a boxart this good for the next Smash Bros.

Got any thoughts? Post in the comments. Got any suggestions? Post in the comments.

The Best Video Game of All Time

Posted by Voltex , in Video Games Jul 29 2012 · 177 views

Definitely Superman 64. B-)
I've been playing it like, nonstop the past two weeks. I just can't get enough of it! Whoever designed this is a genius.

Who needs Portal?

Would anyone like to team up with me for this one? :P I feel like it would be more fun for me if I did so, and I might live longer. Maybe.

We're not teaching university science classes here, we're playing a text based fighting game where the objective is to beat your opponents into oblivion.

Get back in your grave, you.

Also, what pay are you gonna get as iBrow's slave?

explain it with a convoluted quadruple negative.

Although everyone should go sign up for that game now.
And tell your friends.
And your moms.
Maybe not that last bit.

Poor Lhikan. Demoted from riding on top of an awesome Rahi to being packed in with a bunch of batteries as an afterthought.
