Pokemon Emerald Remake

Just a couple reasons why I think we might get this instead of a pair of Ruby/Sapphire Remakes.

  1. The Red/Blue/Green and Gold/Silver remakes came out I believe ten years after the originals; with Black and White 2 announced, that means Ruby/Sapphire remakes in 2013 (ten years after the originals) are impossible. However, a 2015 release for an Emerald remake is still possible.
  2. Since Generation 3 each Generation has had 5 "main" Pokemon games: the two new games, the third game that has a slightly different focus and adds some stuff, and then two remakes. If Generation 5 continues this five game trend but we're getting Black/White and Black/White 2, then we have room for only one remake - and Emerald fits that bill.
  3. Emerald was an amalgamation of Ruby and Sapphire; both legendaries from the previous games were catchable, both Team Aqua and Team Magma acted as helpers and antagonists. In addition the Battle Frontier was added and we had new trainers to battle outside of it too.
  4. This one is mostly proof that we will get at least Ruby/Sapphire remakes, and it's because we have every single region except for Hoenn (and, by extension, the Pokemon there) on the DS.

If I can think up any others I'll add them in later, but to me this is proof enough.

1. FR/LG was released two years before the anniversaries of R/G/B(1996 compared to 2004). It was more or less only GSC hype that made everyone forget that, especially with how well it would have fit. =P

2. Honestly; I wouldn't use that as a potential reason, when Gen 5's been blowing every single prediction and pattern out of the water. Besides, it might open up a new pattern: Every two generations, the pattern changes. =P(Since, you know, there never were remakes until Gen 3 and all, which means we'd have two gens worth of normality... And now to change it, we definitely have the sequels) I'm not saying no remakes; but I myself wouldn't be surprised if we either got 6 games(Two originals, two sequels, two remakes), or if the RS remakes skipped a generation.

3. If they make RS Remakes, I bet they'll pull an HGSS: Merge the third storyline into the first two... So, both legends will be awakened, and Rayquaza will have to be calmed, but, say, instead of both disappearing, one would stay and you'd fight it... Maybe in that cave in Sootopolis to let it still have use. =P Battle Frontier's almost guaranteed, as long as they don't mess up and not have it(I mean, GS didn't have anything... The Frontier in HGSS was based off the Battle Tower from Crystal, and they simply expanded on that idea, and added Platinum's Frontier. =P), but whether it's the Emerald or Platinum variant would be a very big question(Or, even a brand new variant that mixes parts from both)

4. The only problem with that, is the presence of HGSS. They kinda went out of their way to allow every Pokemon to be caught with just the DS games in Gen 4... Probably not expecting that Gen 5 would stick to the DS for the entire time. However, I would support RS remakes in general. =)

Overall, I honestly wouldn't mind an Emerald remake... But, whatever they do, it wouldn't be something I'd skip just because it's not Emerald(And Emerald's one of my favourite Gen 3 games to boot. So I have some bias toward it. =P).

The problem is, it's just not likely for them to simply release one remake, especially since they seem to like dual pairs a lot more this gen. =P
