I Fell Off A Cliff

To Disney Day 4: I Fell Off a Cliff

Since I came in after midnight yesterday, I’m writing/posting it now. Expect Day 4 tomorrow morning (hopefully). Anyway, time to switch to current perspective!

Today we went to the Magic Kingdom, and I have to say, it was a whole wack of highs and lows. The first thing we did was to leave the park by doing a round trip on the Monorail, which was pretty sweet. A little slow, but I’m glad we did it.

After finally getting into the park, we split up and my group went to Tomorrowland, which was probably my favourite zone of the entire park, and I only actually did three of the rides there. We went on the People Mover, which was relaxing and a brilliant way to start the day, as we got a tour of all of Tomorrowland while on the ride. Next we did Space Mountain, which I think is probably my favourite ride so far out of both parks. First of all, they planned the waiting area brilliantly; they had little video games to play while waiting, and lots of neat stuff to look at. The ride itself was thrilling, as you couldn’t see anything.

I didn’t do much in Fantasyland, other than to eat at some Pinnochio restaurant and go on “It’s a Small World” – a very relaxing ride, and since I wasn’t feeling great at the time I appreciated it even more.

I skipped Liberty Square until around 11pm, where I went in the Haunted Mansion. This thing is clearly the grandmother of all other haunted mansions, and although I’ll be honest and say I wasn’t ever scared, I was very impressed with it just the same. I won’t spoil anything for any of you that haven’t been to Disney, but the room at the beginning was hilarious and the trick at the end was pretty sweet.

In Frontierland the freaking Thunder Mountain Roller Coaster was closed- WHY MUST IT BE CLOSED TOO ARGH so I did the Splash Mountain (another brilliant ride) and the Tom Sawyer island exploration thing. I also bought a giant turkey leg there during the parade, which I barely ate half of. Those things are huge.

In Adventureland I went on the Pirates of the Caribbean, and it was another enjoyable ride. Disney’s technology for their rides is spectacular, and this ride was certainly no exception. The pirate store after the ride was pretty kickin’ to look through, and I almost bought the soundtrack for On Strange Tides before deciding not to.

I missed the fireworks thanks to Splash Mountain, but that was alright, because the bit I did see wasn’t as good as the ones at Epcot. In addition, we failed to visit Mainstreet due to time constraints (also it was pouring rain before dinner and it took us three hours to go to our cabin, change into dry stuff, and get back), so I DIDN’T GET MY PICTURE WITH DONALD DUCK WHY OH WHY DOES THIS WORLD HATE ME ARGH!!

However, my parents scheduled a character lunch on Saturday in the Animal Kingdom, so I’m hoping we’ll get Donald there. I swear, if we get some lame character like Minnie or Goofy (okay, so maybe Goofy isn’t as lame, but let’s face it, he’s no Donald Duck), I’m going to be mad.

I think that’s it for this lengthy entry. I just wish there’d been another Coke store with free pop samples.

EDIT: lulz fail it's Day 4 not Day 3

YES! Space Mountain and Splash Mountain are AWESOME!!! And those turkey legs are HUGE! I couldn't finish mine either (when I went last summer)

Why was Thunder Mountain closed :(?

Sorry about Donald Duck...and the world does NOT hate you ibrow (if they do, it's because you're focusing too much on HtBaO instead of TvT :) jk)

Magic Kingdom is the best, isn't it?
