I've shown what I have so far to several people, who all appear to at least be intrigued by the concept. Thanks to Portalfig in particular, I now have an idea of where I'm going to go with the rest of the game and how it'll all come together. With his suggestions, I might finish constructing the game before April arrives.

Although I imagine I might have to postpone hosting it for awhile. I'm not sure how much time I'll need to dedicate to it while it's running, but the G&T contest is approaching, and I would like whatever I end up entering to match the theme (as well as whatever time limits there are; if the contest is only on for two weeks, this game would be a bit too long).
