The Hunger Games

Posted by dotcom , Oct 20 2011 · 86 views

I began reading this book about, oh, 4 days ago and finished earlier today.
That is, 12 AM.

This book was just amazing. It was just superbly written and I couldn't put it down. It's been ages since I've read a book that was so engaging.

I also must give Collins credit for being the first writer in any story to make me legitimately want to vomit at something that happens.

Alternatively, it was also depressing because I had been working on a story (Tentatively called Star & Gavel) that was frighteningly similar in its premise, only in space. And also much more mediocrely (?) written.
Oh well.

Anyways, just borrowed Catching Fire from the library and hope to finish it soon.

Ah, The Hunger Games. One of the best books i've ever read, and that's saying something, because I read a fair bit. :P I'm just hoping they don't butcher the movie too badly.

It's a fantastic book series, and remarkably appealing to a diverse age and gender set. I only discovered it about six months ago, and finished the two books a few months later, when I got them from the store. Definitely one of my favorite series; tragically short, at only three novels.

They've actually been working a movie for it, too. Looks to be pretty decent, though I'm skeptical about certain casting choices.

Yeah, I read tons too and this book was also one of my personal favorites.

I did not know of the movie, I will have to look into it, although I don't see how they could properly craft it without making it an R rated movie. Which wouldn't be bad actually.
