Before that happens Zorn, the Great Lizard in the Sky, will come down and put us all on his back and fly us away to our new planet.

Nobody saw anything. Thus I must explode the Earth to destroy all witnesses to make that statement true.

but if the Earth could think, and decided to take that course of action

 

then we'd never comprehend things, being wiped out in an instant of an explosion

 

but perhaps one astronaut in a ship somewhere would survive
