I don't see where you're getting that Ekimu can hardly move his head when wearing the Mask of Creation. His head movement is slightly more limited by virtue of the lower chin,, but he still has a pretty sizeable amount of head articulation—you just need to angle his neck slightly higher to do so. I also personally feel like the solid gold mask fits his color scheme better than the blended one, if only because his other gold parts are all solid colors while the gold and Trans. Light Blue of his Protector mask blend into a less appealing greenish color where the colors meet.

 

If I understand your second question correctly, then I've had a similar idea—but I've never been able to put it into action. Are you trying to suggest a gear function that would move multiple joints on a figure's arm at once, or rotate a figure's shoulder along more than one axis?? To do so effectively might be possible, but it'd require more than just simple gearboxes—it might well need Technic turntables for an axle to go through, and possibly universal joints or additional gearing if you intend to extend the function further down the arm.

I don't like the blended Protector mask with him as much as I wanted to- the place where the gold and the trans-light-blue meet creates a really ugly colour imo.

I definitely prefer Ekimu with the MoCr.  He looks so noble and brave with it on.

It's a blended mask, so everyone is going to have a slightly different version. Maybe you just were lucky to get a mask in which the colors don't mix weirdly with each other.

Mine has a bit of green, but I didn't even notice until looking here. 

 

I still like both of his masks.
