I have a good idea based off the title Ignition: A scientist attempts to create sentient life, but meets difficulties powering it up. Of course the actual story will be far more in-depth; this is just the premise floating around in my head.

Hopefully I can find time to enter between homework and NaNoWriMo.

Review Of Republic Commando: Order 66

Posted by Legolover-361 , in Real Life, Writing Oct 25 2011 · 51 views

I might as well start with the cons, as they will form the shorter of the two lists.

I thought that, at times, the plot seemed a little disjointed; Karen Traviss's lack of location descriptions reinforced that slight confusion. I should be able to better follow when I reread the book in a week or two.

The beginning of the book was fast-paced, yet sans real action. We have Darman's squad, yes, but his battle was stuck in the middle of other happenings and I couldn't really gauge its importance.

Now for the pros.

Numero uno: The book was awesome.

Republic Commando: Order 66 delves further into clone troopers' lives than any media I've read or watched before. The addition of Mandalorian culture was a nice touch; it's awesome to read about Null-class clones in action. I felt the puzzle pieces given throughout the book as to Palpatine's secret agenda all fit together nicely, another strong point of the plot.

Apart from the lack of location descriptions, Karen Traviss really has a nice writing style that I plan to emulate somewhat; I love how she handles dialogue and characterization. An added bonus is that she actually served in militaristic capabilities: She served in both the Royal Naval Auxiliary Service and the Territorial Army, so she must know something about military activities.

My favorite character is probably Fi, just ahead of Ordo and Darman.
Spoiler

My overall rating: 9/10. It's great, but you have to read through to the end to really get into it.

In other news, I hate how the Imperial Commando series was cancelled because of canon issues with Star Wars: The Clone Wars. In all honesty Karen Traviss goes into far more detail about clone culture than the TV series; so why would they choose the TV series over her writing?

As my younger brother finally finished reading a day or two ago, I started on the book. The first thing I noticed is that Karen Traviss doesn't describe locations; I wish she did, as otherwise the book seems great. The characterizations are fantastic, the dialogue seems natural, and thus far the plot appears to be sound.

I've just finished Chapter 4 and am about to read Chapter 5.

Research papers are easy compared to persuasive essays. -_- I guess I just need practice.

if you were true fans to bionicle you would support it's return you are not fans if you don't want it to come back even if you followed the entire story and loved them and bought every set and had joined a website with a large fanbase for them and made tons of friends and talked about bionicle every day and then when it ended you moved on to hero factory and don't want bionicle to come back you aren't a fan then because you thought it was going downhill and didn't like every single little aspect of it and you don't want it to come back and you aren't petitioning lego like mad and throwing temper tantrums left and right and aren't carrying on bionicle's revolutionary legacy means you are all traitors to those who want their most favorite toy back we know our fantasy will come true because we are here we are waiting and we want our bionicle and if star trek fans had as a group said no point in talking about this anymore it's never going to come back it never would have come back and lego is pushing their poorly designed and overpriced hero factory in little kids faces bionicle didn't need it so we have evidence to prove that our toy line which we simply cannot live without is going to come back because we will hold our breath and storm denmark if we don't get our way which we will because we always get our way and get what we want even if it comes back in ten years we can ask for the entire new line of bionicle for our thirtieth birthday and when bionicle comes back we'll have plenty of money to buy them because we didn't betray bionicle and buy hero factory like you all did you annoying little black hearted meanies who call yourselves fans when you're not you stinky shoe wearing snobs who don't agree with the movement to bring bionicle back

4:39:40 PM onarax I doubt it, as I doubt any being could learn how to control such circuts with such a precise speed and size, plus not all computers have the same circuts so it'd be even more complicated.
