Wow. It's a year younger here in North Carolina.

In New Jersey, sixteen years is the minimum age at which to attain a permit. I believe this age limit, shared with at least a few other states, is the oldest in the U.S.A.

More like stinks to be in New Jersey.

Or Connecticut, New York, Delaware, Washington D.C., Kentucky, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, or Rhode Island.

Windrider: I have three reasons for doing so:

 

1. New Jersey has the highest property taxes in the U.S.A. and gets one of the lowest amounts of money back from the federal government.

 

2. The high age limit for earning a learner's permit.

 

3. My parents call New Jersey "The Land of No Right Turns" -- and it's true.

 

Marvel: I'd drive safe if I were actually getting my learner's permit. But, no, the fact that I could get it if I were allowed will have to do for now.

I really can't argue with that last point. It does drive me nuts.

I don't see how 16 is a high age limit for earning a learner's permit.
