Serenity

Last night, I watched Serenity, the film sequel to the unjustly aborted TV series Firefly.

It was painful. It was intense. It was amazing. If you watched and enjoyed Firefly, I highly recommend Serenity. Just be prepared to have your heart nearly break.

One last note for those who have already watched the film:

R.I.P. Wash. You are a leaf on the wind. ;-;

:kaukau: Yeah, Joss Whedom tends to do that. Too bad it gets a bit predictable after a while. Sometimes, instead of the intended effect, it actually just annoys me because, coming from Joss, it just feels cheep.

Anyway, yeah, I've seen the film, and it's pretty cool. It would have been cooler if Firefly didn't and so soon and was more than just a cult classic. I'm annoyed, too, with how it ended so early, though half of the reason for that is because I get a little sick of its short duration being the first thing people always bring up when talking about the show. I mean, can't it be remembered for just being what it was?

Yesss, both the show and movie are amazing. I, too, am really sad that the show ended, but I am glad that we got a movie to tie up a few things, at least.

:kaukau: It would have been nice if Joss Whedon could have foreseen its short duration and wrote Firefly more like a miniseries. That's what I'm trying to see it as, even though I know that wasn't the intention.

Actually, I'm trying to see if I can watch the series with my sisters, and then the movie, though it could take a while before that ever happens. There are a lot of other things that we like watching, and it's hard to watch everything. Right now, I'm enjoying Falling Skies, among other things, and it's pretty great. Good old Steven Spielberg. Some friends of mine also recommended Prison Break, which also sounds like my kind of show.

And Velox, why you no comment on my blog?

that movie depressed me for literally a week. A combination of such a wonderful show ending and all of the sadness in the movie itself was just heartwrenching.
