Bziii: Mata Nui's Military-Establishment

Posted by Carson Chambliss , in Writing Jun 21 2012 · 782 views

Building the forces

Question, how much of the Mata-Nuian forces have been established? We have spoken about relatively specialized squadrons in the Gukko Force, Guard, Sanctum, and Ussalry but what about the regular troops.

Establish forces here.

So who wants to start things off?

First, we must give the Ga-Koro Guard better, less anachronistic name then "Marines".

I actually liked the name Marines... :(

That's true, I think there is an official name out there somewhere.

Nevermind just Ga-Koro Guard.

The official name seems to be boring old "Ga-Koro Guard".

@Bio I'm honestly don't care either way what their name is, I more interested in history/tactics/etc.

Can't we call it the Navy or the Marines? Just the 'Ga-Koro Guard' is boring...

Excuse me, guys. Hate to cut in on this lovely discussion and all, but a query: Do you wish for me to make separate sections for each force and each area of info on them (history structure tactics etc.)?

Why not?

Oh, and I always looked at the Marines and Navy as subsections of the Guard.

@Bio yeah we're definitely going to change it.

As for the Sanctum Guard, so far, I've made reference to a more militarized arm, and a more police-esque arm.

In response to this I've always felt that the Sanctum should have some kind of scouting unit. After all Ko Matoran blend in with their drifts real well, and there is the whole quiet thing.

Sanctum Police for the police?

Ko-Koro Guard for the normal military?

When it comes to military organizations I'm not that creative.

Also it'd be great if Francis could compile everything we determine here into the original blog post.

I'm tempted to start calling the Po-Koro guards "The Desert Legion" and have them all have funny hats and French accents.

I believe some once suggested calling the Po-Koro Guard the Footmen do their origin from Pohatu.

Also what about the Dikapi Riders?
    • 0
The Dikapi Legion has a good ring to it, methinks.

I agree.

Also. I just finished reading through the original write-up for the Marines, and I don't know that there is anything there we want to keep. Anyone disagree?

The only thing I really like is a given, the liaisons in the other Wahi's but I expect all the Forces to have such a system.

I don't care how much you want to butcher of the Marines.

I don't like the word 'Legion', It implies a huge army for what is really a specialized unit. Maybe Riders, Warriors, Guard, Calvary, or Squadron?

I like the Footmen, or the Desert Legion for the Po-Matoran army.

Dump it, set it in fire and have the ashes scattered by the wind.

Let's give them a fresh start.

One thing I noted that might work as the Ko-Koro scouting force is the 'Arctic Watch'. Nane works decently well, and not much about them was specified.
