What Has 2011 Given Bzp And/or The Bionicle Community?

Seeing as my last blog entry failed to get any comments, I'm going to try again to get comments. My question to you is pretty much the title. What has happened in 2011 that has impacted BZP and/or the Bionicle community?

My response would be we got the Orde controversy, an increase in pony activity, the second dataclysm, and Greg not appearing on BZP. What are your responses?

It wasn't really a dataclysm. Nothing was lost, and the board going down was intentional. The amount of time it was down, on the other hand...

But I'd say that had the biggest impact on BZP. Not sure about the Bionicle community, though, since I haven't really been paying attention.

In order of importance:

- Dataclysm II (sounds like a horror B-movie title)

- Ponies (what did you expect, they're taking over the internet)

- Greg's personal dataclysm (there really wasn't much to discuss in the first place)

- Orde controversy (because it was rather short-lived)

The upgrade, definitely, since it managed to finally do what many BZP members had been wanting to do; drive people away from the site. BZP is rather addicting, and those who wanted to leave kept getting pulled back. The upgrade gave them a chance to leave and never come back.

@Waffles Orde is a character in the Yesterday quest. The controversy surrounding was the fact that he was a male Toa of Psionics (who were established as female by the fanbase). The reasoning given for him being male also caused a stir because it used the stereotype of men being hot headed and having a short fuse. That's the shortest way I could put it, if you want a better explanation pm me.
