Give me something random to write about and I'll write a one-page to three-page story about it.

My Ssc#8 Entry

Posted by Peach 00 , in Writing Nov 30 2011 · 153 views

I never thought I'd be entering this, but as I said in the topic, I'm glad I did. I really hope some people review - I'm going to be gone until tomorrow, so let's hope there's some reviewers in that period of time. Who ever does review it, thank you. =]

Well, I finally got some snow, even though it wasn't a lot. It melted right when it hit the ground, but it was just too cool to see it in November. I have never had that pleasure before. :D

Also plus the Danger Close chapter will have to wait. I might get into the SS contest after all, and I still have time to post the story, since it's all finished. I promised myself that I was going to get as much schoolwork done as I can so I can get in. Anyway, I'm going off for a day or two so I can put the nose to the grindstone on this. Wish me luck! ;D

Syc And Writing

Posted by Peach 00 , in BZP, Review(s), Writing Nov 28 2011 · 168 views

Yeah, just wanted to let you guys know that all the SYC (Submit Your Creations) stories that were in the slots we'll have to wait for reviewing. I'll get to them eventually, but I'll be busy on December 1st, and I'm trying to get what I hope will be my entry for the SS contest posted before the 2nd.

That, and I feel I'm pressed for time on the new Danger Close chapter, which I feel hasn't gotten a lot of posts in the review topic. I'd really appreciate even a single-sentenced comment in the review topic, just as long as I get something. It's basically dying through all the Epics pages, and I would really appreciate anybody who's willing to review it and check it out. Even if you read only the first few chapters, I'd still be in debt.

Anyway, sorry for the delay in SYC reviews, I'm just busy with writing and school. I really need to get everything for writing done. ;_;

Review: My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic

Posted by Peach 00 , in Review(s) Nov 27 2011 · 265 views

So, I decided I'd finally check out the first episode. I only watched about roughly fifteen minutes of it, because I started to skew my attention more towards writing. Anyway, onto my thoughts.

At first, I saw it being more of a feel-goodery type of story, because it being ponies and all the pink colors and whatnot. That aspect I started to pull away from when watching it, but it still keeps it. That may just be because I've only just been introduced into the show, but that's the kind of vibe I first got when watching the beginning.

You can't exactly expect it to be awesome when you first see it, so I wasn't entirely impressed in the first few minutes. The whole evil sister story wasn't exactly the choice of story I would have had, but it's a show for girls around eight years old. So, again, you can't expect it to be great when first watching it. Still, it wasn't like it was stupid right off. It wasn't too bad, but it's not the best cartoon I've ever seen.

When I was a kid, I liked watching shows like The Flinstones and The Jetsons, as well as Cyberchase and Bugs Bunny cartoons (I never saw a lot of them, sadly) because they had a more unique sense of humor than Cartoon Network's cartoons nowadays. Adults could laugh with the kids at some of it because it wasn't stupid cartoons. I found MLP to be similarly amusing to that of old cartoons, but not as good. However, I would prefer it over CN's cartoons any day of the week.

It had an interesting cast of characters. Twilight Sparkle seemed like a bookworm that was well-educated, which none of her friends understood. Of course, friendship is magic (hence the show's name), but things like books and history can be cool in their own way, too. Rainbow Dash wasn't too bad a character, but she seemed to come off as an annoying show-off type of character. Not a bad character, but not my personal favorite, either.

And, I didn't catch the name of the other characters, such as the one with the birds (That's about the time I turned it off because I was paying more attention to writing), and the one that helped Twilight with her hair. Never caught their names - if somebody could give me them, thanks. I'm pretty sure it was Fluttershy that had the birds, not sure who the other pony is...

Still, the characters have strong points and weak points about them. Twilight has an idea of what friendship is, but can't really grasp it with those she knows. Or, that's what it appeared like to me when I watched the beginning. This is kind of a weak point with the character, as well as the stereotype that she does nothing but read books and actually would like to be educated in the finer subjects (in the story). I haven't really seen much of the other (what I consider to be) important characters, so I can't really judge them without either being wrong or right.

With it comes a sense of a fairy tale, because it seems like it will always have a lesson at the end of it. And it seems like that, when you watch it, first thing you're going to assume is that the end is going to have a 'feel-goodery' sense to it because of the name of the show. That obviously comes with the show's name (Friendship is Magic), but you'll assume that it's going to come near the end. Of course, I didn't watch the end (again, busy writing), but I did have a feeling something like that was going to come at one point.

Maybe because it's the first show I get some of these feelings, but it seems like it would probably be carried out through the show's entirety, whether it wasn't supposed to be there or it was.

Now, although I don't feel like it's the best cartoon ever, I was still impressed and entertained by it. It tries to pull away from the same five concepts that have been repeated over and over again. It has a more unique sense to it that I haven't seen cartoons nowadays really have, so it seems good in that way. Of course, it isn't a show I'd watch all the time, but if I wanted to just watch something that I don't watch on a regular basis, I'd probably pick this among a few other shows.

This is the one aspect though: When you watch it, you've got realize that yeah, it is a little girls' show, so you can't expect it to be great. Don't ever have high expectations for anything, otherwise you won't see the good in things. I didn't have huge expectations, but expected it to be like any cartoon would be. I was a little surprised by some of it, but I don't think it's the greatest show ever. It's good, but not the best. But, it definitely comes with it the sense that people should always value friendship, which is probably the best message anything can send.

Stuff I Got Yesterday

  • Necklace holder
  • 4 pairs of jeans (I grow fast)
  • 2 shirts
  • Beading wire
  • Pink strands of pearls (not real, obviously)
  • Strand of pink and silver beads
So, in other words, I made out like a bandit. :D

I need some. ;_;

So, I need to write. Motivate me. Threaten me. Embarrass me.

Congrats To Sebastian Vettel...

Posted by Peach 00 , Nov 26 2011 · 69 views

...for breaking Nigel Mansell's 14 poles in a complete season of F1, Vettel reaching 15. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, I am referring to Formula One, a racing sport unlike such as GP2, IndyCar, and Nascar. Nonetheless, Vettel secured the record with an amazing lap time around the Brazillian circuit (not sure of the specific name) in the F1 season, which was also the last qualifying session of the season.

Tomorrow Vettel will be starting 1st in the grand prix, so let's wish him luck that he'll win. And for those who are the least bit curious about his background, he's a driver at Red Bull Renault, one of the twelve teams in F1. Red Bull is currently leading the world championship with Vettel at the helm, with teams like Ferrari and Mclaren Mercedes far back. Vettel had already won the championship a few races back, still having over a one hundred point lead over the contenders. This will also be Vettel's second world championship, a back-to-back victory with his first.

Sebastian Vettel is a very humble driver and is very kind to his teammate and RBR team, and although rising to a similar power like that of Michael Schumacher (seven-time world champion, in the sport and at the other Mercedes team), but doesn't wish to be called that. Idolizing Schumacher since he was a kid and was karting at an early age, Vettel secured a drive as a replacement for (I might be wrong) Nick Heidfeld at BMW for one race, and appeared again at the junior Red Bull Team, STR (Scuderia Toro Rosso).

After securing a point in a race at the Indianapolis GP, he finished 4th in another race at the team, which gave him the drive at RBR. The rest is history from there.

Vettel is, again, a humble driver, and although beating many records since his appearance in the sport, doesn't let it overwhelm him and doesn't let his ego get in the way. Unlike others, he's a fair racer and has deserved every point he's earned. Hopefully he will evolve into a legacy and he will continue to win for a long time. :)

Submit Your Story/ Art / Moc To Me

Posted by Peach 00 , in BZP Nov 25 2011 · 65 views

Anybody remember that entry? Yeah, I'm restarting it for more people to see. All the once slots filled were cleared because I reviewed all the MOCs and stories, except for one slot. Anyway, here's how it works to those who don't know it: You submit any form of story, art, MOC, comics, or whatever you need reviewed and I'll review. There are ten slots (nine currently), and when they're filled up, requests won't be taken. However, I can still take reviews through PMs, but I might take longer with the review. Here's the list:

1. Chi Keeper Cho Voxumo-Chan The Switch Mirror (AWAITING REVIEW)
2. Xinlo: Spirit of Sonics Destiny Quest (AWAITING REVIEW)
3. Grant-Sud Divided We Fall (AWAITING REVIEW)

Well, request anything. There are plenty of slots to fill.

(Also, on another note, another chapter of Danger Close is up. Not a new one, or not that I can remember. The last one that I have on the chapter index I haven't written in full yet. Anyway, link.)

Underground By Men At Work

Posted by Peach 00 , in Writing, Music Nov 25 2011 · 136 views

I've been listening to this song all day. I figured out that playing Call of Duty while listening to it at the same time is an awesome combination. :D

Also, besides just that, I really need motivation for Danger Close. I have no clue where I should go with it, even though I want to induce the action needed in it. I just need motivation to keep writing and not to stop - I can't let this story just fade and die in the background like a lot of my other ideas. I need to write more of it - I want to write more of it.

EDIT: I needed to add all those below BTO. Sorry, but those are too awesome to name. =P

Happy Thanksgiving, BZP! :D

So, what are you thankful for? I'm thankful for having BZP, my friends, my family, and that it's four-day weekend. =D

Pumpkin Cheesecake

Posted by Peach 00 , Nov 23 2011 · 79 views

My mom's making one for Thanksgiving. I'd help her, but being sick puts a damper on that. <_< Anyway, my parents were kind enough to get me some glass beads and lobster claws for making jewelry, as well as these awesome Mario pajamas. Even though it's kind of kid-ish, they're still really comfortable. : D

Also, the new Danger Close chapter will be up on Friday...hopefully. Still editing it and finishing it up.

Seriously? This is an amazing story. If you read it, you really won't regret it. If you haven't read Inferna Firesword's previous epics, then you might want to check the story guide she has in the review topic so you understand the characters, or either read one of her previous epics. Nonetheless, this story hasn't gotten the attention it deserves, and truly is an awesome story - seriously, go read it. You won't regret it. ; )
