Blessed Blade Posted April 15, 2015 While I say to just disable the ads; I agree heavily that that's a horrible position, especially for what that ad seems to be like. =| Quote Link to comment
Gatanui Posted April 15, 2015 This is odd, the ads appear at the top on my client. Maybe I don't have the latest version? Mine is 7.2.0.103. Quote Link to comment

This is odd, the ads appear at the top on my client. Maybe I don't have the latest version? Mine is 7.2.0.103.No idea how to check, but I FIXED IT!Had to edit the XML file and remove the line <AdvertPlaceholder>1</AdvertPlaceholder> from existence. It then instantly got rid of the gigantic blank ad space. Quote Link to comment
Makaru Posted April 15, 2015 Skype and Tumblr are locked in a dead-heat race to see who can destroy their respective successful internet networking products the quickest. 6 Quote Link to comment

Ehksidian Posted April 15, 2015 Which XML file?config.xml. Removing that line got rid of the adspace when the ad went poof. Only way to make sure it won't come back is by blocking app.skype.com with your computer, but that disables updates and skype home. Quote Link to comment

Oh, now I get why I didn't update to 7.3 automatically...and why Skype home hasn't been working for a while. 2 Quote Link to comment

Makaru Posted April 20, 2015 Because if it's not a race then they could probably slow down a bit on trying to be the most terrible at what they do. 2 Quote Link to comment
