That's very nice! I always love how the vectors turn out so smooth. Just one thing I noticed: his body color doesn't touch his outline in his jaw line, but I only could see that when I enlarged it.

I give up. I'm not learning to vector. Looks too scary. :P

Dangit, I must have fixed that the first time and then forgot to fix it after Illustrator crashed... I'll have that fixed by Christmas.

And vectors aren't scary, they just take a bit of time and patience. :P

Well, I'm not doing it from scratch like you; I'm just tracing over TMP's art. :P

I still need to learn how to do clipping masks, though... Would probably help with the eyes.

BTW, how do you get your open paths to end in points? They always come out flat for me.

I'm not doing them entirely from scratch. I doodle the blueprints if you will onto paper and trace over that. Save for those two propaganda pics I made...

As for the pointed tips: when you click on a path, there should be a toolbar on the top of the screen that says 'stroke' and has a few options beside it.

One of which is a drop down box that shows a straight horizontal line with the word 'uniform' next to it. Open that up and play around with those.

Alternatively, you can use the stroke width tool (RIQjZY.png) in the toolbox for some of the more awkward strokes.

And for an extra bonus, here's a tip on doing clipping masks for eyes.

When you make the white part of the eye, copy it onto a new layer above. Then take the ellipse tool and make the iris, making sure the white layer is layered above the iris. Then select both the iris and the white paths simultaneously, right click and select 'make clipping mask'.

Now those two layers merged into a group with a clipping mask inside it. All you need to do now is make the pupil, shines, and glistens on the eye with the ellipse tool and just move them into that group (making sure it's underneath the clipping mask).

Information overload!

Well, even so I'm lazy and don't vector what I can't see. :X

Thank you so much! This is bound to help with my vectors...

Edit: Are you talking about Illustrator CS3? I can't find any of the stroke stuff.
