What I'm really looking forward to from Bionicle's return:

Posted by King of Dust , Jul 18 2014 · 139 views

I'm excited for the sets and story, don't get me wrong. But one think I just can't wait for is when new members come to this site, who are a generation who never grew up with Bionicle, and see them experience it for the first time. Seeing it through their eyes will take me back to when I first got into Bionicle when I was 7. It's been ove 10 years now so a lot of that magic has faded into something else. I just want to see kids get involved is something the way we all did when we were there age. Gonna make the experience for me so much more nostalgic.

What Templar did for Bionicle

Posted by King of Dust , May 11 2014 · 250 views

Yesterday I wrote a blog entry about what Bionicle did for me. I finished it, looked at it and deleted everything. It was just over emotional and cliche garbage. So I scrapped it.

Then, earlier today, I watched the Bohrok Animations for the first time(Yes I know, tie me to a cross and burn the blasphemous). But while watching it I realised. Screw what Bionicle did for me. What about what Templar Studios did for Bionicle?

They made the characters of Bionicle not just boring robotic heroes, but actually beings that had compassion just like people. My favorite scene in the whole of any MNOG product was the Po-Koro scene in the Bohrok animations. So much is happening with the characters in such a short space of time and its gread.

First of we have a bit of humour when Hafu realises he has to break down his statues. I want to point out MNOG humour is just the best. But that humour soon vanishes as we actually see Hafu breaking down his sculptures in order to same Po-Koro leaving him trapped on the outside. Then we cut to Hewkii screaming about Hafu. So we see, just by that these two have a strong friendship. I think I love the fact that Hafu knows hes going to die in this scene and he is willing to sacrifice himself(and his pride and joy) to save his home and the Matoran inside. If thats not Bad*** I dont know what it. But then Pohatu saves the day by getting Hafu back into Po-Koro with the help of Hewkii. Then the two Matoran hug each other which is actually really touching.

I know it may sound a little far fetched but Im not sot sure if the Bionicle story would be what it was if not for MNOG. I actually think they single-handedly set the tone of Bionicle with providing a template for the atmosphere. It also made us aware that these were characters on not just toys

CeeCee Comic Preview (W.I.P)

Posted by King of Dust , Aug 17 2013 · 99 views

Dont know if Im going to stick with the name... not very catchy. This is all I have done so far (its only the first page). I hope it looks slightly reminiscent of the first comic issue of BIONICLE as that's what I was going for. Let me know if you cant read the text. I was having troubles with that. Also let me know if you have a hard time understanding what is going on. Making sure people can follow is something I really want to do in the comics.

The Story

Six Bionicle toys (Kopaka, Avak, Kalmah, Mutran, Macku and Whenua) are transported into the Bionicle world by an unknown force. At first, this seems like a dream come true for the team has dreamed of nothing more that becoming real Bionicles, and known has dreamed this dream as much as Kopaka. They soon find out that being a real Bionicle isnt all its cracked up to be. In the midst of a brutal war, the six are stranded are forced to take sides. But how far will they go to fit into the new world they have been thrown into?

CeeCee Comics

Posted by King of Dust , Aug 11 2013 · 76 views

Hey guys. Haven't posted a blog entry in a while but I thought I should. I dont know if anyone remembers the CeeCee Avs I used to draw. Those badly drawn Bionicle Avs with a purple coloured background. They were in a thread called "Cute Bionicle Avatars" but I guess "CeeCee Avs" Caught on with some friends and now I use it. I got kind of bored drawing just the characters but I recently had the the idea of creating a comic with them in. Ive never really tried making a comic before, or even considered it before now but I was thinking something a long the lines of it starting like the first Bionicle Comic. You know... the very first one... with Kopaka and stuff? But then it just turns out they are toys re-enacting the comics becuase they wasnt so desperately to be heroes... and villains of course. Anyway, a selection of these toys get transported into the real Bionicle Universe and realise real Bionicle life isnt all it seemed cracked up to be.

I dont know if this is something that would interest anyone but one of my main concerns in the humour. Now dont get me wrong, I dont find myself devoid of all things funny, in fact wuite the contrary. I just dont know how well it could be translated to a comic... but we will see.

Anyway... have a nice day/night...

Back.

Posted by King of Dust , Jun 15 2013 · 71 views

For the few who actually noticed my absence, I am back. For future notice, if I ever left for good then I would say something. So if I'm gone for a bit assume I'm on temporary leave or else deceased. The reason why I have been gone for this lengthy period is because I have had a weeks work trial at a factory. If I use my PC, I might lose some of my 8 hours sleep and affect my performance, so I thought it best I stop going on it just for this week(maybe a little more on the weekdays to come, but we'll see how I feel then.

On the plus side I have been reading A LOT more. Something of which I didn't do too much of before. I am currently eating through the Republic Commando series. I'm not a HUGE Star Wars fan anymore but the series is very, very good.

Anyway, thanks for reading.

Bye!

Having no vision in my right eye, I forget how much I rely on my right ear to "see" on my right hand side. Unfortunatly my right ear now has some sort of infection making my hearing temporarilly messed up in that ear. I cant tell you how odd it is being heavily compremised on that side. Other than that, not much new. might be joining the Terrotorial Army soon hopefully. That should be fun.

Anyway, thanks for reading!

The Problem With Lordi's New Album

Posted by King of Dust , May 30 2013 · 72 views

This inst going to be a super long, detailed review. I just want to get one thing across here. Im a pretty big fan of Lordi and have been for some time now. After listening to their latest album, Im just not very fond of it. At first I couldn't tell what it was that was wrong, and then it hit me. Kita...

And I dont mean the drums. The drums are fine. Mana and/or Otus (I don't know if Otus managed to record anything before his passing) did a superb job. It was the backing vocals. Kita had a distinct voice when it came to backing vocals and I didn't think I would miss them as much as I did.

Anyway, that's all I have to say about it. Its good but not as good as the other five.

Kopakas. They aint welcome!

Posted by King of Dust , May 27 2013 · 64 views
Sorry, But, Its, True
I trust everyone has heard of Kopaka from the Bionicle story line. The icey cool dude that most people seem to love so much. Yeah... he's cool. I mean... Kopaka characters are cool. In every movie, book or whatever, we love 'em. We dream to be like Kopaka, with his cool ways and chill attitude(Yeah those are horrible puns).

I mean like really cool.  But, what I'm going to say, people aren't going to like. Kopakas are annoying as heck in the real world. I mean, when you think about it, it sounds really cool. Then you realise. Who is most like Kopaka that you know? Can't they be reeeeeaaaaaally annoying at times? Darn right they can. They analytically think everything, they think they are some sort of chief. And when they speak...

Okay, here is another thing that doesn't work in the real world: Cool dialogue. I mean, seriously its annoying. I think the worst part is that you can tell the person thinks theyre so chief when they say it. You can practically hear the music playing in their head as they speak. I'm really empathizing with Tahu right now. If Bionicle was real, do you really think Tahu and Kopaka would have made up and ben buddies? I highly doubt it. The whole thing was just thrown in there like "Two contrasting characters who are completely different bond in the end". There is nothing wrong with that. Its heart warming, it really is. Just thought it was a good point to throw out there.

I guess I'm not so much talking about Kopakas. Because the truth is Kopakas don't exist. They're an idealistic character that we either want to be or want as a friend. People arent that perfet. I think my gripe is wannabe Kopakas. Darn you Kopaka I want to be you.
