An excerpt from my valedictory address
As someone speaking at a graduation ceremony, there are a few things which I feel I have to say.
I must recite some permutation of “good job on making it this far.” So… Well done! We’ve graduated; we’ve successfully made it through our high school years. Congratulations everyone.
I also feel compelled to mention that we are the future leaders of America and the world. We have to be. It’s too late to be the past or present leaders.
Next, if you will humor me for a moment, is something which I feel obligated as serious LEGO fan to tell you—my largest ever captive audience. “LEGOs,” with an “S,” is not a word. Just as you could have a bucket of sand, not sands, you can say you have a bucket of LEGO, or a bucket of LEGO bricks, or—if you’re lucky—a bucket of LEGO sets, but never a bucket of LEGOs. If you didn’t realize how geeky I was before, you probably do now.
