So, long story short, I nearly quit my job because of stress. I was used a lot for jobs other than what I applied for, some of which required that I work several hours on a widely varied schedule.
In fact, we were so short staffed that I worked twelve hours on my birthday and that was pretty much my lowest point as I was consumed with stress about my future because there were so many things I was uncertain about.
However, after a serious talk with my bosses, it looks like I am planned to work a fixed schedule of five straight days a week with two days off every week. Not only that, but I will be working solely for the job I was hired for once these changes go into effect.
This is actually my ideal of where I want to be in my career in the first place, so I am deeply relieved about these developments.
I feel like it may be a bit early to celebrate, but it looks like I will be sticking around a bit longer.
Whassat, Billy? You've still got eight years of grad school and don't have to deal with this stuff yet?
GET OFF MY LAWN!
