What did you want to be growing up?

Here's a question:

What did you want to be growing up?

Doesn't matter whether you achieved it or not, or whether it's physically possible (like wanting to be a firetruck or dinosaur). Just what did you want to be?

Mine was different than most kids I knew because I didn't have a job in mind, I simply wanted to be a father growing up.

I really wanted to be an archaeologist, until I was about seven years old, at which point I decided I wanted to paint stuff. Never followed through on either, though.

:kaukau: I wanted to be in the Olympics.  My mother actually had an opportunity to set me up with an Olympic swimming coach that trained a relative of hers, but my father shot it down because he thought that "he could train me better."  He had a real case of the Dunning-Kruger effect.

I probably wouldn't have made it to the Olympics anyway, but it's things like this that will always have me wondering "what if?"

Also, I wanted to be a mad scientist and a writer.  That mad scientist thing never quite worked out.  So far, the writing thing hasn't either, but that's the one goal that I have that's the most subject to being realized.
