Assassin's Creed Movie!?!?

So guys. Guess what!

An Assassin's Creed movie is totally happening!

It's apparently going to be produced by and star Michael Fassbender as Desmond, but I don't really know much about him or have seen anything he's been in that I recall... But age aside, I think he could fit the look easily enough.

I'm also dying to know which ancestor(s) it will star. But we probably won't know that for a while. *siiiigh*

Still, I'm going to remain hopeful for this one. And even if it sucks my fanboy love will probably blind me to that fact, so yeah.

I expect it'll just cover Altair right now, and save Ezio and Connor for possible sequels. Or it might just go straight for Connor given his American heritage, it might make a movie a bit easier to do.

But yeah, Fassbender is just amazing. He stole the show in X-Men First Class and Prometheus. His involvement makes me think this movie will be good at the very least.

It'd be weird for him to be Desmond AND Altair though. The similar look in the game is fine, but in a movie it might end up looking a bit comical. Fassbender should really just play EVERYONE.

I can see them going with just Ezio for accessibility. It would allow them to tell a really concise story, and avoid any jumbled narratives. Just incorporate certain elements from the two games bookending the Ezio trilogy, and you can tell a single story that could potentially span multiple movies.

:kaukau: I probably won't watch the film, but I wish it the best. I guess I'll end up watching it sometime when it comes out on DVD.

By the way, ET, watch First Class and Prometheus NOW. Because they're awesome, and Fassbender is incredible. I'm usually not this blown away by actors, especially ones so young, since I tend to reserve such worship for the old, gray-haired men like Ian McKlellan. But Fassbender can not only completely sell a role in all its complexity, but he can make it twice as hardcore.

Yeah a fellow sci-fi fan here at work mentioned he really like Prometheus, but I don't have many people to go to movies with at home. I feel bad for always dragging my girlfriend to some, and then when I don't I go with the old bestfriend... Who even when I make it clear I'm going drags his girlfriend to everything. Bah. But it was a movie I wanted to see...
