Hip Action Figures of the Day

So. There's this collectors toy line called S.H. Figuarts. That's the line all my weird bug-eyed figures in my hauls come from. They mainly do them but have also started focusing on things like Super Sentai. So it's a Japanese line.

 

But they realize there's a market here in America. And that market really, really, REALLY likes Dragonball Z. Apprently. Because Bluefin, the guys responsible for importing them here to the States, just revealed five new figures at SDCC already! (Technically six if you count Cell, but they showed him off in the weeks up to the event.)

New figures are:

  • Android 18
  • Krillin
  • Frieza
  • Nappa
  • Original appearance Vegeta

The rest (except Cell, as noted, and normal haired Goku for some ridiculous reason) have been released in some form already.

 

I haven't collected the DBZ SHFs yet.

 

I want to now.

Oh whoa childhood revisited! I might not collect all of them, but it'd be awesome to have one on display. Trying to choose one though...

Exactly my thoughts! There's too many now for me to really get into them and I'm already buying Kamen Riders...

 

I might go with Cell though. Or Frieza now. Since they aren't humans (Or Saiyans :P) they've got excuses for the joints that make them look better. Cell in particular looks flawless.

Krillin used to be my favorite character but having Frieza would be cool... having both to show them fighting would be epic.

Oooh you could make some awesome scenes with those two.. Oh the potential. This line really needed villains.

Oh my goodness, Hip Action Figures of the Day is catching on. I know nothing about Dragonball Z beyond OVER 9000, but these look nice.

Oh yes! A Trunks With Sword figure! =D

 

... What? Trunks is my favourite character. >_> Looks like it's pre-Hyperbolic Time Chamber, too.

 

I'm guessing they'll likely do the Buu Saga next...

Yeah, Trunks just came out! He's the first figure to come with heads for both Super Saiyan and regular hair. For that reason (and he's freakin Trunks) a lot of people consider him the best one yet.

 

First they have to release all of these though. :P So I wouldn't expect anything new for at least another year... But Buu saga is a good guess. Either that or filling out the Z fighters with Yamcha and Tien.
