I think I'm only one who read the news fully...

Hostess is shutting down, but other snack companies can, and probably will buy the rights to make them nasty treats.

They ain't gone yet.

To be fair, there's not much the union could do. If they acquiesced and went back to work, "liquidation" would quickly become a standard threat among companies facing a worker's strike.

It was a stalemate, and neither party gave in. If anything, they're both to blame.
