Sword Art Online

Anyone here watch it?

A friend of mine has been trying to get me to branch out in my anime viewing. We were working on a project and taking a break and he convinced me to watch the first episode.

That was five days ago.

I've watched 16 episodes since. :D

And of course I just learned Max Factory is coming out with a Figma of the main character... Looks like I'll get to enjoy a new action figure out of this show too. Yay me haha.

But really, I am enjoying it. The concept of the anime - being stuck in a virtual MMO - is interesting to me on its own. But the execution of it I found pretty different, in a good way, as well. It's very episodic in that most of the episodes (at least in the first half) aren't directly connected, but there's still an obvious progression of time and things changing. Part of me wishes they did break it down and tell more of the story to make it last longer, though.

It's also an ongoing series. Rare for me to get into one like that. Granted, there's only a few episodes left, but there'll be some suspense at least since I can't marathon them all yet.

Yeah, I just started getting into anime this summer and this is one of my favorites.  The second half of the season does have a more linear flow to it tho.

Yep, so far it's the only anime besides FMA: Brotherhood that I totally enjoy and follow.  I only hope to find something else as good once I'm done with it.

xccj: It also has some more of the stereotypical character relationships (ie Kirito and his sister) that have me constantly facepalming. *siiigH*

Roablin: Try Tiger & Bunny next! :D
