Merry Christmas, all! I hope those of you who celebrate had plenty of fun today. :)

So here's some of the pic-worthy stuff:

Aaaand a full list:

  • Xbox One. :3
  • Charge & Play Kit
  • $40 in cards for Microsoft (no longer Points now so not sure what to refer to them haha)
    • Bought Halo: Spartan Assault

    [*]Star Wars books:

    • Mercy Kill
    • The Crystal Star
    • Scoundrels
    • The New Rebellion

    [*]Darth Vader shirt

    [*]Turtle Beach X12

    [*]$195

I'm liking the Xbox One so far, though haven't gotten to use it too much. And the voice commands are way more useful than I expected them to be and am actually enjoying it. Probably going to buy Lego Marvel Super Heroes as my first hard copy game, but for now Halo: Spartan Assault will do. Speaking of! My first Xbox One Achievement! :D (I wish there was a Facebook app already so I could share it there. :/) It is... Skull Combo, in Halo: Spartan Assault! (Complete any mission with the maximum number of Skulls active.) Not totally cool but had to start somewhere heh.

Really glad to finally have Star Wars book to read again too. :)

But most of all I was just really glad to be spending time with my closest family. It's been rough for us and to see those that still care right now... It's really helping. I've also been having a hard time and this relaxation is much appreciated.

Very nice. The Crystal Star is an oldie but goodie in the Star Wars universe - enjoy!

Excellent to hear! It's one I've been after for a really long time, but whenever I would go shopping myself to Barnes & Noble I'd always get pulled away by some of the newer ones. It and The New Rebellion will finally be closing a long-standing gap in the timeline of my novel collection and I had already planned on reading it first. Now I'm sure I will.

Aww, I was just going to post that Crystal Star is one of the three worst EU novels I've ever read, and with Darksaber and Splinters of the Mind's Eye. It just has some of the most... bizarre and Mary Sue-ish characters in a Star Wars novel. But hey, I still enjoyed reading it, when it was all said and done.

...Well then. Splinters I've yet to read but I'll give you anyways since it was literally the first EU novel, which is why I've avoided it. And yeah, Darksaber I wasn't crazy about either... Still probably better than Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor, which is my least favorite off of the top of my head.

But I will read them all eventually so might as well get to this one. The summary at least never seemed to indicate to me that it was bad haha.

It's usually the top votes-getter in the "what's the worst EU novel" contests in the SW community, so it's a pretty common thought, haha. Splinters I don't like because of the weird Luke/Leia moments, and too many references to Earth and Earth technology.

Surprised you don't like Shadows of Mindor, it's one of my absolute favourites, I feel like it's a book that gets Luke better than almost any other EU novel.

It's usually "Children of the Jedi" and "Darksaber" and "Crystal Star". I've found all of them to be enjoyable reads, (and my least-favourite book is the Cestus Deception- I actually stopped reading it and took it back to the library), but Crystal Star definitely has a ton of weird plotting and characterizations. I mean, you'll find out for yourself soon, haha.

Okay Children of the Jedi did come across as super weird to me. Never cared for Callista just because of how she was introduced.

Cestus Deception is one of the few Clone Wars era books I've read and I didn't think it was that bad (I do like Kit quite a lot). But it did leave me convinced I could keep putting off that era. And so I have.

I finally got to a point where I want to take a break reading Sword Art Online, so I'll probably be starting Crystal Star tomorrow.

Sorry, not Cestus Deception, I meant Jedi Trial. Total brain lapse there.

*reads brief summary on Wookieepedia*

Well, I'd like to learn more about Nejaa... but beyond his inclusion it sounds exactly the same as every other synopsis for every other Clone Wars novel. Hard to judge from just that heh.
