Look At The Mob Leaving Yankee Stadium

Posted by LewaLew , Oct 19 2010 · 25 views
MLB
It seems there is a mass exodus from Yankee Stadium in New York after Nelson Cruz hit that two-run bomb.

It's like the Rangers are getting revenge on the Yankees bullpen for what happened in Game 1 to the Texas bullepen.

Plus, unless the Yanks make a seven-run comeback, the Rangers will only need one more win to head to their first World Series in franchise history, and even if the Yankees tie the series up later, they'd have to face Cliff Lee again.

Advantage clearly belongs to Texas.

Giants Lead N L C S 2-1

San Francisco took the lead.

That's pretty much all that needs to be said, since Neither pitcher really let much happen. Even with the three runs Hamels gave up.

Next round is in San Fran tomorrow--Blanton vs. Bumgarner. My prediction? Giants take 3-1 lead, before the Phillies force game 7 between Hamels and Cain.

Darth Quade Remains The Dark Lord

"I find your lack of vision disturbing..."

Darth Quade will continue for at least two years as the Emperor and Dark Lord of the Cubs. Rather than sign Ryno or wait to take a stab at getting Girardi, the Chicago Cubs shall embrace the Dark Side and march forward to conquer the rest of the MLB universe beyond Wrigley Field. This news also means that Girardi will almost assuredly remain in New York, while Ryno may end up leaving the Iowa Cubs and going to one of the other MLB teams who remain manager-less. Some sources have suggested that Sandberg may manage in Canada, with the Blue Jays, but the Cubs would prefer to keep him in Iowa so he may learn the ways of the North Side under Darth Quade, perhaps to manage later on.

Anyhow, while Ryno still has much to learn of the North Side of the Force, Mike Quade will command the Cubs until 2012.

Oh Yeah, I Remember How To Get You Out...

...says Cliff Lee as he dominates the Yankees again, just as he did against them in last year's World Series with the Phillies, and all with only a very shallow lead. The only reason he didn't pitch the complete game was that the Rangers finally scored six more runs, giving Texas an eight-run lead deep in the heart of Texas New York City. For that reason, Ron Washington decided to let ROY candidate Neftali Feliz pitch the ninth, and he also dominated for that one brief outing, giving Texas a 2-1 lead in the ALCS.

The Yankees, meanwhile, have to do something against Tommy Hunter, who appears to be the only weakness in Rangers starters. At the same time, New York has a recently unreliable A. J. Burnett on the mound, and with the way the Texas Rangers have been playing, every mistake could turn into a rally.

For those of you that prefer offense, game 4 is for you.

Maybe.

I Find It Ironic That...

MLB
...the Yankee fans seem to be accusing the Rangers of "buying" Cliff Lee, and claiming it's the only reason the Rangers are winning the series, and that the Yankees should have Lee in a fair world.

It sounds like how everyone else describes the Yankees.

I don't believe that a team can "buy a championship" because the team is just that--a team, and anyone they trade for at the deadline is a part of that team. I don't believe that the Yankees "bought" any of their 27 championships, and I don't believe the Rangers "bought" their pitching dominance. Same goes for every other team.

But I still think it's funny that the Yankees' fans are claiming that the Rangers took advantage of the Yankees inability to sign Lee and "bought" him as the reason they're losing to Texas.

Play Ball!

Posted Image

For those of you who don't know (which would mean everyone but Aho-Chan and Sumiki) the BaseBlog is beyond a blog, this is beyond baseball it's a blog that focuses on the great American sport of baseball. The idea of a baseball themed blog has actually been in the works by me ever since Super Bowl XLIV, when Aho-Chan posted a blog entry asking if anyone besides himself didn't care for the Super Bowl, to which I suddenly got the idea of a baseball-themed blog so I could talk about my favorite sport without waiting for someone else to post in the Official Baseball Topic in the Completely Off Topic forum.

Play Ball, folks.
